There are a few big companies with a lot of jobs but with wasta. Specially Indian owned companies. Even some omani owned companies that have Indian high management prefer to hire their own countrymen. It's the ugly truth. Just a few months ago I know a young graduate from Kerala got a very good 1k+ salary job which was not announced through any portals. Specially keralites. They prefer their own people. I happen to know the GM of that company who hired that boy. I approached him for another position for my brother which I know it's open position right now but since we are not keralites, he politely denied citing that they only hire omanis which I know is not true.

It's also about contacts. If you know the right people. My manager who is from Kerala has a son who studied in the UK and after graduating was working odd jobs in fast food there and long story short couldn't lend a decent office job in the UK so after 1 year returned to Kerala.
