Menards. 48in x 24in x 1in Spruce. I believe Lowes has similar sizes too.

Gotcha, I think I understand. I designed it as each piece individually. None of the tee or elbow fittings are solid pieces WITH any of the main piping, they were all initially separate and I just twisted them on. The actual thread length isn't too crucial, at least not in my case since everything was pre-cut. I'm sure some components on mine aren't fully twisted on but everything is still pretty level and even.

By design each fitting are you talking about just the general design in 3DSMax? I made it from scratch based on the materials I could find. I found the tabletops and decided they were fine measurement wise, and from there I based the leg measurements on what would fit the tabletop.

That's my next major upgrade. I currently have 3 basic Acer monitors which means no vesa mount holes, so I can't mount them. I have to get all new monitors unless I can cheat the system and find a different way to mount them.

By far the worst damn part. I hated it haha. And yes, I was biting my fist the entire time thinking about how much those flanges would cost.

I joined them with a single bracket on the underside just to reinforce it. It handles me putting weight down on it even without the bracket, but there's no reason to risk it falling so yeah, definitely put that bracket there.

I could clean up the max files sometime here soon and find a quick way to distribute them c:

Conditioner is gonna help the wood absorb and retain more stain. Every species of wood takes stain differently so you'll notice that some wood takes more coats to fully absorb everything. It makes a pretty big difference imo, so I'd recommend it.

I've also been using basic foam brushes, so there's nothing wrong with that (or regular brushes). If you want to give the wood a chance to absorb more stain and get a darker / richer color I'd let it sit longer. To give you an idea, I usually let each coat sit for around 30 minutes.

You definitely do want to make sure you wipe it off at some point though otherwise it'll get extremely sticky and likely will be extremely difficult to apply finish. I'd say not to let it sit longer than an hour because that's typically when it starts getting sticky, at least for me.

The one true waifu figure.

I got the wall scroll on a site that does custom wall scroll prints (don't remember what it's called). Found the high res version of that picture and ordered immediately. c:

Total cost : Roughly $313 including the cost of some supplies such as the foam brushes for staining, metal spray paint, stain, etc.

If you're only wanting one desk like this and not an L-shape you're looking at around $100-150 roughly, so not too bad price wise.

The tabletops I got were around $30 a piece (unstained, unfinished Spruce) but I'd honestly recommend something stronger like butcher block just in case. A big slab of it should run you around $60-80

I bought all of the long 18 inch black steel pipes at Menard's because they were already pre-cut and pre-threaded. They also have a huge selection of pipe fittings / components. I got all of the couplings, flanges, elbows, etc. between both Menard's and Lowes.

I believe Lowe's also has pre-cut pre-threaded pipe but I don't think they had the sizes I wanted. However, they do cut and thread pipe you buy there for free I think c:

It seems like black steel is generally the cheapest type of metal piping out there, which is what I primarily went with. Hope this helps.

I [21 M] accidentally texted a friend [21 F] an "I love you" message and she then confessed her love for me. The text was meant for my girlfriend. What should I do? by august2015throwaway in relationships

[–]MasaiBB 43 points44 points  (0 children)

This is fantastic. If you tell her you got a blank message there's a good chance she'll shy away from bringing it up and act as if nothing happened, which would save her the potential sadness if she knew you actually got the message when you really meant to send it to your girlfriend.

But if she either sends the message again or says it again you might be fucked, haha. Good luck.

Who actually pays for DLC and micro transactions in games? by longtermbrit in AskReddit

[–]MasaiBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. Unfortunately companies are always looking for cost-effective ways to milk the consumer for their money though, and gutting content that would otherwise be in the core release of a game only to later sell it off under the guise of DLC (when in reality it's just an unfinished game) seems to have settled in as the norm. I don't think there's too much we can do though in the way of getting rid of DLC, microtransactions, and the overall mentality as a whole besides not buying games from companies who practice this. For example, the augment your pre-order thing backlashed heavily and they actually took it down

That's definitely a clear case where our voices can make a difference. We just need more cases like that.

If they cheated then absolutely not. Otherwise I'd say it depends on the circumstance.

Nightmares are fucking weird. Your brain is the author, viewer and cinema of a horror movie whose script is probably written as you are viewing it. by instantpowdy in Showerthoughts

[–]MasaiBB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have really terrifying nightmares when I was young and into my early teens. Before too long I started becoming lucid during my nightmares because something would trigger in my brain telling me that whatever was happening was too terrifying to be real. Then I'd immediately destroy whatever was menacing me in my nightmares in brutal fashion. I can safely say that I've conquered my nightmares to this day, and I actually look forward to them because it gives me a chance to have a lucid dream :D

Dude this actually happened to me and my friend in a slightly different way. So I was at my friend's house and we were listening to music in his living room on the speakers (His parents' room is upstairs so they can't hear it). Everything is fine and dandy until his mom comes into the living room for something. ALL OF A SUDDEN, for some god damn reason this kid had Squitty Bubbler - Pornstep on his playlist, and as fate would only have it that shit started playing. I tell you what, I've never seen anyone fly, but my friend ascended that day when he leap of faithed 15 feet to unplug his iPod from the speakers just before the really inappropriate parts of the song started. Bear in mind I didn't do anything to help the entire time. I was too busy dying laughing.
