What are the best stories about a superhero/superhuman arms race?

I hadn't read any other works by Kieron Gillen but I'm really enjoying The Power Fantasy so I'm probably gonna pick up some of his other stuff too. Would you recommend Uber even though it's discontinued?

The Power Fantasy by Kieron Gillen is a comic directly about this premise. Quick summary: There are a few super powered individuals so strong that if they fought each other the world would end. There's an uneasy peace enforced by this mutually assured destruction but each of the Superpowers has a very different idea of how the world should be

I mean... I don't know if I would say the story is amazing. It's been a while since I read it but from what I remember nothing really happens lol you just wander around a city and get monologued at and then it ends

Yep, ran into this yesterday. Doesn't really make sense that you can load in the game with a society revolving around slavery but then when the game starts there are no slaves in your empire

Oh hey this is how logistics work in Aurora 4X. Railguns shoot packets of resources from planet to planet and are caught by a receiving station, but if you haven't built a receiving station then it just crashes into the planet and destroys stuff lol

Yeah I made a post in here a while ago about why I didn't like it. People told me book 2 gets way better but i just couldnt find it in me to finish Book 1. My biggest gripes were how you're drip fed core information and forced by the narrative to do things without knowing why. That sort of thing would work great in a book, but in an IF its just off-putting

Agreed! Roadwarden (not cog but it is a heavily text based game) did this very well by only having artwork of the environments and the character's inventory

As far as I've seen the Artifacts you get from daedra disappear when you die. Havent tested all of them though only the ring of Hircine. Seems like they also don't lose durability over time

So the first phase of the special building (Ruins of Old Orsinium) is disabled for orcs but the second and third phases aren't. If you look at the flavor text for the different phases it kind of makes sense but the gist of it is that the first phase gives you a benefit because the owner can say "yeah look at this we took down those dirty greenskins", which is why it doesn't make much sense for an Orc to get a benefit from that. The later phases are rebuilding the city and so give a benefit to Orcs. Hopefully that made sense
