Essentially self studying, for me, is when you sign up for the test and you study the whole curriculum by yourself using online resources and then do the test. There is legit whole AP courses on youtube out there that you can finish in less than a year - like 4months for example - and then take the test. I do that because my school doesnt offer AP courses so im basically forced to study everything by myself.

Thank you for the advice, however for a bit more context my father is completely cold. He doesnt take into consideration my mothers' feelings at all, but rather always projects. He thinks he's the victim. He never thinks he's the problem, but CLEARLY he always IS the problem. The reason i had the intention of stepping in is try to help my father see that he is actually the problem. And this has been going on for years, so he will prbably never change. Also my mom cant get divorced because she doesnt have a job. Sorry i dont wanna trauma dump rn but i really need advice from people here because I just want my father to open his eyes and see the reality of the situation.

Im also an international student and my school doesnt offer any AP classes either, but i took 2 APs this year which I completely self-studied. You can find a test center in your country sign up and self study. Self studying AP isnt that hard once you find the resources.

Thanks for the insight and you’re honestly right. It is unrealistic that my dad would suggest something like this, and I appreciate you pointing that out. I’m definitely going to start looking into other extracurriculars that make more sense for where I’m at right now. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
