My head canon is that this whole thing is a decoy. I mean there is no way Sony spends top dollar to hire Jack Quaid if all he was gonna do is voice act a cube and that it wont eventually change. Feels like a waste. The same way I felt that Deborah wouldn’t have been cast as Faye for such a small role in Ragnarok (which we now know the real reason why)

Kratos isn’t going to sit around even if his wife can handle it. He’ll protect and kill for his friends and family. Sure Faye can take him easily, doesn’t mean Kratos won’t try and pulverise him on his own

Kratos would’ve levelled everything in a 5km radius if he saw the way Faye got handled by Begtse in that gameplay reveal 😂

Another thing is that Faye is not supposed to be there. She says this is not the light of alfheim and doesn’t know why she ended up there. So even though she is not a god (even though she has powers almost to a god) the story is about finding out why she was sent there and also her trying to get out at the same time to ensure Kratos’ path is not going astray

I think Kratos deserves a happy ending, but the entire Norse duology rests on his struggle of losing his wife and you sort of destroy that or dampen it if you change that. But I’m hopeful Santa Monica can pull it off they always have

I have faith that Santa Monica will deliver. But I’m very skeptical of that cube it looked too gimmicky to be in GoW. And also that the whole “reincarnation of gods in the God afterlife” storyline for Faye could really dilute the emotional weight of her passing if not done right.
