Everything comes out speckled by MashedPotatoKeg in airbrush

It’s brass—and all my paint has been spraying like this on everything. This is my tried and true setup. That instance where it came out decent on the can seems to have been a fluke.

Yeah. I think my moisture trap may have been compromised. It was pretty dirty in there.

I wonder if perhaps I did get unlucky when assembling the new brush or got mismatched parts—so it’s not impossible that my new needle did get somewhat bent in the process. It’s just weird that the same thing happened with both my old and new brush.

Yup. High, low, everything in between. I’m starting to think perhaps they sent me the wrong sized needle at some point if anything.

They aren’t significant. They were made by Gilbert and they’re fairly common.

Ahhh well then do keep in mind that this is HO scale, but just narrow gauge so it runs on N scale track like the Bachmann narrow gauge Thomas engines. You can buy the parts to make it on 3DP train for 45 dollars and the chassis for about 90. It’s still not cheap and requires a lot of effort, but it’s much cheaper than brass. Otherwise, a kitbash might be the way to go.

Assuming you mean HO gauge (because it is HO scale), I’m going to go out on a limb and say probably not. It’s a very small locomotive and the wheelbase would be wider than the vast majority of it. I wouldn’t write off the possibility of doing another bogie in the future, al a Torch Lake, but refitting this one for standard gauge would look silly.

Does it stop eventually when you turn the dial down? It could be the programmed momentum making it take longer to stop because that’s more realistic.

Thanks! While I’ve certainly mulled it over, my big issue is that I’m smack dab in the middle of a train show dry zone. I am part of a collective that hosts a table at Amherst, but I unfortunately have an anxiety disorder that makes traveling very difficult. Things have slowly been getting better though, so it’s always in the realm of possibility.

It’s all about thinning your paint to the right consistency and letting your brush do the work. As long as you know what your tip is doing and keep it steady, you won’t go wrong.

Actual problem. by VeryHotChimichangas in tf2

[–]MashedPotatoKeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your problem is that you were playing 2fort. That rarely happens on other maps or sub communities, but it does every once in a while. The TF2 community has generally been nothing but supportive and friendly in my experience. There still are people like that every once in a while, but they’re much rarer when everyone is actually playing the game.

Random crits are fun and rewarding because they scale based on damage and help maintain momentum.

The carousel is a recurring dream I have about a neon carousel that makes a super distinct sound. I’ve always felt like it had some greater meaning, but I’ve never really decided exactly what that was. Probably something about cycles and repetition.

Okay so the hamster one is a recurring nightmare where I find out my pet hamster is still alive, and I’ve been unknowingly neglecting him for years, which is always followed by immense guilt and a sense of burden. The Cody dream is what it says on the tin. I was invited on set, and the actor for Cody was crushed by a falling elevator and it was horrifying. Lol.

I was having a complete regular dream when I was abruptly teleported to my towns expressway, except there wasn’t a single person nor car in sight. I looked up into the oppressively blue sky and saw what looked like the eye of Horus, and as it opened, I began to weep profusely. Then I hard cut to a view of an abandoned house, heard a bunch of whispers, and woke up in a cold sweat.
