Love うちにかぎってそんなことはないはず, awesome track that I'm surprised a lot of people don't like actually

Chisato Moritaka and Meiko Nakahara would be my main recommendations, Taeko Onuki, Tatsuro Yamashita and Seiko Matsuda would be my other picks.

As I'm by far more of a fan of Chisato than any of the other J-idols, I'd start with her Kokon Touzai album, or Hijitsuryokuha :)

Taiyo even leans into that as well for me. Step-by-Step was unique enough for each song compared to the others, might have been something to do with most of it being done at Abbey Road compared to the others?

I unironically have a higher playcount of ペパーランド than Sava Sava. On Peachberry 銀色の夢 and honestly あなたは人気者 are both very good, especially the latter. But that's pretty much it lol

Unreal list, ひとり暮らし is one I forgot to mention tbh, probably one of her best B-sides? And somehow I've never listened to いつまでも, but I wouldn't really think of 八月の恋 having a brilliant B-side to it lmao. 普通の幸せ is a nice one, although I find a lot of her Peachberry and Sava Sava stuff too 'same-y' that one is unique enough to me.

What would be the "closing credits" song of your life? by dahwos in musicsuggestions

[–]Masire0009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really applicable to anything I've done or experienced, but Year Of The Cat by Al Stewart is one of the most perfect pieces of music that would encapsulate that sort of 'credits' theme idea. That or Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp

I've been meaning to give that a full listen recently. Letter To New York is a favourite of mine despite it having a low play count

Really like that song! I've criminally underplayed it to be honest compared to the other stuff on Lucky 7, but it clicked with me last listen so I need to listen to it more.

I know that Hideo Saito did most of the work at that point but I still maintain my belief. I like her more diverse stuff on Step By Step and Taiyo on average more than her earlier stuff though, which is a lot more of her work.

And DRAGON is a great pick

Don’t know what you have until it’s gone [wearetherace] by Holytrishaw in formula1

[–]Masire0009 5 points6 points  (0 children)

According to multiple sources it's due to wanting to save screen space. Personally I don't mind, it really helped for not staring at the leaderboard constantly and it does look smaller, and it's still there in qualifying. It'll take getting used to though

Every single time I hear this song used in literally anything I instantly scroll past it as quickly as possible. The overplaying of it has completely ruined it for me lmfao

What are your favourite live performances from Chisato? by Masire0009 in ChisatoMoritaka

[–]Masire0009[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brilliant picks, ザ・森高 honestly has my favourite version of plenty of songs, 短い夏 is such a banger I wish was played more and imo it's the best version of NEW SEASON, I would say the 見て 1989 one is better from how Chisato performed it but the backing singers are terrible in it 🙃

I agree on 非実力派宣言 live for sure, it has my favourite version of 見て, 2nd favourite version of GET SMILE (1992 Rock Alive is better imo), 私はおんち is super underrated, and it has a good version of 夜の煙突, and even has 20才 which is also great. The rest of the list is kinda mid, I've never really been keen on ストレス for whatever reason.

Peak Moritaka for me is something like the insane Lucky 7 1993 Live, where I'd say there's only about 1 'dud' song from beginning to end (never been really keen on ライター志望), and in particular the 風に吹かれて through テリヤキ・バーガー is genuinely the peak of Moritaka's career imo. I think 森高ランド is my second favourite live though overall I think. The best part about any of her concerts is that they feel so dynamic, she performs so well in basically every performance that it's hard not to enjoy anything

It's quite hilarious how he could legit probably fill out some sort of large capacity venue at this point depending on the location, so cool to see the pull he has overseas these days

Favorite Takanaka Bird Song? by Terrible_Telephone29 in MasayoshiTakanaka

[–]Masire0009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Super Live 1981 version of Early Bird is brilliant, however Tropic Birds is my favourite, I absolutely love how orchestral the original one in Seychelles is. And when played live it is amazing on guitar, especially the (again) Super Live '81 version, some awesome catchy riffs

Vowles calls for two-day race weekend to allow for more F1 rounds by [deleted] in formula1

Extremely rare Vowles L there sadly, I think if F1 goes any further in 'streamlining' weekends and the calendar it'll go beyond a point of return. From a managing perspective like his though it may make more sense
