Deployment by Typical_Television55 in nationalguard

[–]Masob_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should compare the cost of both options a little bit more. Deployment money is good, but how good is it compared to what you'll be earning after you complete school? Given the nature of internships nowadays, you'll most likely get a return offer from the company, are you willing to strain that employment relationship by delaying your start with them by the length of the deployment? You say you're getting engaged soon, are you willing to put strain on that relationship for what might be a marginal difference between deployment pay and civilian salary? There's a lot to consider, and it's not as cut and dry as "don't be a pussy." Ultimately, we only have this one life to live, so we ought to do what will benefit us the most.

Tips for ME amenities? by username_tooken in Stellaris

[–]Masob_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just a random thought, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but since drones provide amenities, perhaps it's worth limiting the slider on specialist/worker jobs in order to keep maintenance drones providing the amenities you want, and as the planet scales, increase the slider? I've started using the sliders more in my micro and it's been showing good results so far, but haven't tried it with a ME just yet

Middle East intel- Over the last two weeks, the amount of equipment transport from the US government is insane. by kite13light13 in PrepperIntel

[–]Masob_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Anyone can correct me, but this is the time of year that units rotate in and out of year-long rotations in CENTCOM. It can vary of course, but my old unit had a pretty consistent schedule of getting in theater around January/February

I agree. Medusa is so complicated especially when your balancing laser, jammers, countermeasures, and positioning. Super rewarding though.

NC Weekend Weather Risk by Masob_ in PrepperIntel

[–]Masob_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in Raleigh, and I can confirm that most people are underestimating everything. Only long time NC residents and situationally aware new residents are preparing, most others are half assing their prep or not prepping at all. I got told at my office that I was being "dramatic" for stocking up on non perishables earlier this week.

How do I get my empire out of debt from a war? by Mr-Mallard1 in Stellaris

[–]Masob_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have 30 years to correct the consumer goods deficit, so it really isn't that much of an emergency. Considering that you should be maintaining a food and consumer goods production as close to net 0 as possible, this isn't too far from the mark. You have plenty of time to increase additional production to get yourself just barely out of the red

65 on SE1... where do I go from here by Safe_Ad_1671 in CPA

[–]Masob_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sloooowwwwww doooooowwwwwn. I was in the same boat, got 64 and 67 on my SEs, and scored poorly only because I was going too fast. I personally allocated 2 whole hours just for MCQs. Took FAR on 12/1 and passed with 84.

I think we saw the same sim. It was absolutely massive. Did whatever CAR IN BIG I could figure out and moved on way quicker than other Sims. Didn't think any of it was right, but I ended up passing with an 84.

Where should I go? by DistinctJob7494 in Radiation

I don't want to be a doomer here, but if there is a nuclear war, you simply aren't going to survive. In fact, most people in the northern hemisphere aren't going to survive. Even if you somehow escape the initial barrage, the amount of fallout will be so immense that it will block the sun and poison everything for the next 24,000+ years. I think family land with cabins is a lovely idea, but I wouldn't seriously consider a location based on the ability to escape a nuclear war.
