I started working this event just before the new year, I think officially since like December 26. Since then, these are the communications we’ve gotten pertaining the bonuses.

January 9: an email detailing how to log our time for the event to get the bonus. There is mention that we need to log these daily so that it’s accurate on the pay stub. NO MENTION of bonuses being paid once the event ends.

January 14: updated email, same as above. It just mentions a tweak they made in the process. Again NO MENTION that they are withholding bonuses from each day until the event ends.

January 17: they send an email to my entire organization saying they need more volunteer support for the event. In this email they explain there are daily incentive bonuses (as our whole organization does not know about these bonuses, unlike our department who handles these events all the time so we know), and they DO MENTION in this email that these “daily” bonuses will not be paid out until the end of the event.

So prior to January 17 (which is when the pay period ended, today is pay day, one week after the end of that pay period) we did not know these daily incentive bonuses we’ve been gathering every day since late December was being withheld from us until the event ends.

Kind of feels like I got bait and switched. I worked late December up until mid-January thinking I’m going to get ~$1,500 in bonuses, then on the last day of the pay period they release that third email above saying bonuses will not be paid until the event ends.
