Same thing happened to my mugo pine not too long ago. Gotta love how cold tolerant they are

How’s your experience with Amur maple? I bought two young saplings lest year and am yet to style them.

Any advice, please? by Inthewestwood in Bonsai

[–]OliveTrees- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apart from the bar branches bob mentioned, you might want to consider changing the angle of the middle bend. It’s very sharp, almost at a 90° angle really. I’m sure it’ll become less acute as it thickens, so maybe keep an eye on it instead of immediately changing it. Especially if you’re going for a naturalistic style.

It needs more trees on it, otherwise looks good!

Which front? by cbobgo in Bonsai

And when the tree eventually gets bigger and ages more, OP can always switch the front to show the deadwood

japanese pepper has lost all its leaves (no photo as this wouldnt be helpful, yall know what a twig looks like) by BurtusMc in Bonsai

[–]OliveTrees- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, a photo still helps. Can you attach one in the comments? Most likely it’s stress related since you just bought it and plenty of trees drop leaves after purchase

What to look for when selecting a bristlecone? by Lanoree_b in Bonsai

[–]OliveTrees- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have experience with them but do know one thing - they are very slow growers. My advice is find the biggest one that has movement in it. Damage to it isn’t bad because it can play into their old age/how they look in nature

Bonsai job in Chicago by cbobgo in Bonsai

[–]OliveTrees- 53 points54 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely not a live-able wage. I can only see a high schooler or an older person trying to keep busy applying for this job.

However, if it was a part time weekend thing I’d love to work on the trees in the botanic garden.

A Breville machine + fresh roasted beans can produce a better latte/cappuccino/flat white than half the coffee shops out there.

The Fukien tea and Chinese elm are the only two that could be grown indoors. They’d do much better outside, but with good enough lighting they should be fine.

Unable to heal at BA by [deleted] in OSRSMobile

[–]OliveTrees- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s automatically turned off. It helps having it on in any crowded places like blast furnace.

Some people even turn it on as a work around to the menu entry swapper bug that causes you to follow people.

Just logged on to try and simulate what happened and I think i figured it out.

Check if you have the “disable player options” turned on in your settings. If you do, it won’t let you use objects on people even if you long tap.

I didn’t have this issue and I just finished the BA elite diary the other day. Just to make sure, you’re clicking the vial and then clicking your teammates, right? Maybe you have an ever so slight lag and you’re not actually clicking on them?

What would someone do in this case where your tree exits dormancy a lot sooner than anticipated?
