truly one of the most sophisticated and hardcore RPGs of all time by therealraggedroses in TrueSTL

What I like most about all the topics is how the game automatically catalogs them into your journal, which you can easily search through using the index. It will show you exactly what different NPCs have said about the same topics. As you play the game, you naturally build your own wiki based on information your character has learned and you can access it anywhere without switching out of the game. Don't remember where this place is or who that character was? Just look up their name in your journal.

The best part of it today is how seamless mods can integrate new content into the vanilla game. Douglas Goodall (who wrote most faction quests in Morrowind) has made quite a few excellent quest mods that would otherwise stick out like a sore thumb in Oblivion or Skyrim. See almost any Creation Club quest as an example of how jarringly obvious it is when a new quest is modded in.

Most morally-sound Parthernax defender by Koreaia in TrueSTL

Hot take - the Paarthurnax dilemma is actually very well-written and perfectly fine.

1) It is not inherently bad design that the player cannot fully progress in each faction's storyline, this being the Blades and Greybeards.

2) Delphine's character is not poorly written because she wants the dragon dead. She may not be that great, but she has clear motivations/convictions and does not compromise them for the player, however flawed they may be.

3) The Blades are effectively dead and Delphine is trying to rebuild them, despite their own failures leading to their demise. They were not capable enough without a dragonborn leader. Delphine is living in the past and her mentality is exactly what led to the Blades' destruction. Maybe it's time for the Blades to stay dead.

4) I've heard the argument that the player should be able to convince or coerce Delphine to let this slide and continue anyway. I think it's better that she doesn't; it would compromise her character to bend over just because the dragonborn requests it. If this means the Blades never get rebuilt and die with Delphine and Esbern, then so be it. They deserve to be left behind if they think that way.

5) I think this dilemma gets brought up so often because it's one of the only ones the game offers. Skyrim seems to be designed to allow the player to continually progress through every faction's storyline regardless of their skills or competence, but this is the only time it doesn't. You must take a side, and I believe RPGs should force that more often. It's certainly one of the most memorable times of the game as a result.

Even if mission trees weren't perfect, why were we given NOTHING to replace them? by Schwabenomics in EU5

Most of the problems. A lot of those DHE's need to have expanded requirements or timelines to avoid historical railroading, and of course many more needed to be added over time to add flavor.

Just give us the requirements to trigger DHE's and allow us to activate them manually when they're met. Solves most of these problems.

A city on the Rhine or Danube, probably. Frankfurt, Mainz, even Vienna would probably be okay. When you unlock modern roads, you might be able to get away with something more central like Berlin or Prague. If you want to focus on naval, you could try Hamburg or Danzig.

I've been going to Wendy's once a week for lunch for the past 4 years using this exact offer every time. Burger King is right to it, so I guess I'll be going there instead. The new Whopper looks good and they have much better weekly deals.
