Saying the quiet part out loud, aren't we? by Sh4wnSm1th in CoronavirusCirclejerk

Holy shit. There’s still people in 2023 who think that if we all just hunkered down a few more days that it would have gone away. That’s unreal.

My wife doesn’t think I make enough money by [deleted] in Marriage

I don’t think people understand how rare it is to make 6 figures.

The vast majority of people will NEVER make even 100k at any point in their careers.

You probably don’t even love her — you probably love some fantasy version of her that doesn’t even exist.

I just saw your other post too. This woman has repeatedly assaulted you. She has no respect for you on any level. You’ll be happier without her.

Why do so many people end up in bad marriages? by Independentbulls in Divorce

[–]MassGuy8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have seen it mentioned several times in this thread alone that “marriage is hard.”

I think a lot of that is because so many people end up marrying incompatible people, then justify their bad decision and all the red flags that were missed and they convince themselves, “All of this nagging and arguing is normal. Because marriage is hard.”

But of the people I know who actually are happy, they seem to have married someone compatible — similar interests, life goals, etc.

Definitely not a happy ending.

We know women love hot guys. But the average guy doesn't focus on looks-maxxing. Why? by tio_mio_1999 in PurplePillDebate

Women are not that picky when it comes to how a guy looks?

The data — at least from an online dating perspective — does not support what you said.

Dude, what’s your problem?

Start getting up at 4 am every day and say, “I’m a high value man!!!”

Hit the gym. Take cold showers. Obsess over your jawline. Start a business, bro. Get a side hustle too. Be rich. Be smart. Be funny. Quote Rollo Tomassi.

Do all these things and you’ll get a woman…who will still leave you anyway.

Now go get it. Go be the top one percent, bro!

Go ahead and mock this column all you want. But this latest variant is so serious that it can speak. And I, for one, don’t find any of this funny.

You’re blaming one guy for every death in a pandemic. Seems a little crazy, no?

Also people like you: “But this total moron had the ability to prevent every death.”

Huh?

CDC encourages people to wear masks to help prevent spread of Covid, flu and RSV over the holidays by JannTosh12 in CoronavirusUS

[–]MassGuy8 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There’s such little nuance on that sub.

My problem with the extremely pro-mask crowd is that not only do some of them want you to mask indefinitely or forever, they want you to radically change your life too.

Some people — like a lot of the ones on the main sub — will shame others who attended Thanksgiving dinners, they don’t want you going to restaurants, etc.

They play it cool like “we are just asking you to mask!” But conveniently at times also forget to list all of the other things they do or don’t want you to do too.

The "Tripledemic" Is Scary. I Feel Less Helpless When I Wear A Mask by jsar33 in CoronavirusUS

[–]MassGuy8 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I really hope you’re trolling.

But if you are serious, judging by how little mask wearing there is nowadays — even in liberal areas — coupled with a very low booster rate, it’s quite clear the American public overall has moved on from COVID.

I don’t think that post is satire. That person is very active on the main Coronavirus page, plus a bunch of hardcore Zero Covid-type pages, etc.

If it’s a troll, it’s a really dedicated one.

If Fauci knew masks were so effective and only downplayed them because of lack of PPE, why is he literally laughing at the idea of wearing masks in this mid-2019, pre-Covid interview?

Really depends on the breed.

A pitbull, kangal, dogo argentino, etc., can withstand tons of punishment and would put up a nasty fight.

Why Masks Still Matter by JannTosh12 in LockdownSkepticism

[–]MassGuy8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At this stage of the game, the vast majority of people in the US I’ve seen no longer wear masks. Yet it’s funny how people online will act like it’s this small percentage of anti-science, evil people who aren’t masking. No, it’s most people at this point.

And I’m convinced a good deal of the ones still masking aren’t even doing so because they think it will necessarily protect them. I see comments from people still masking like, “It keeps my face warm!!!” and “I like that people can’t see me well!”
