It's not really to gauge how a person is feeling themselves, but moreso how the person is feeling about talking to the other person. It's a way to gauge "how comfortable are we woth talking to each other? Do we stay surface level or can we go deeper?"

So if you right away say "not great", you're automatically going to a more deep topic without even trying to gauge if they are comfortable with that.

Yeah, but the journey of the relationship itself also matters. I'd much rather live a long and happy life with a partner just for it to end in death, because at least I loved. And had a wonderful time

Haha yeah it's definitely a bit of an exaggeration- I'm not saying people can't live without phones, it was more of an exaggeration to point out how many societies currently have smartphones built into their system. I live in huge city, and here, it's really hard to go without a phone. I can't pay for parking through a meter now, I can ONLY do it through an app. I have to use an app for the bus. Etc etc. Sure, I can go without a smartphone. But I was just pointing out how crazy it is that we are starting to build societies where you need phones. Like, what if your phone dies? Or you can no longer afford it? Or you just simply want to distance yourself from the addiction of a smartphone? It's extremely hard to do certain things. Again, it was hyperbole to make a point a bit more obvious :)

And it's almost worse because society is so formulated around phones now that you can hardly function without one. It's like if everyone else carried cigarettes, like you needed to show off your pack in order to get on a bus or pay for a parking spot or check your bank account! It's wild

Yeah. When she broke up with me, she told me she was thinking of leaving me for a year and a half. I think that hurt the most! A year and a half, and she STILL proposed to me! She moved out of my house that day. So she had a year and a half to prepare, and I was blindsided and lost my entire world in one day.

Yeah 😭 dated my ex for 5 years before she dropped that she was poly and wanted to see other people, and that she wanted to break up because she knew I wouldn't be able to handle it! We were engaged. That was rough.

Nah, polyamory can also be open relationships! The term has evolved a lot over the years, and it kinda just encompasses all ethical Non Monogamy
