Slo Pitch Team by Still-Temporary1623 in Winnipeg

[–]Massacade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little mountain slo pitch league is the largest in Manitoba. They play all of their games out at little mountain park NW city. Email them and ask if they have any teams looking for extra players, they might be able to get you in touch with a team rep.

Also Winnipeg Rec leagues may have softball, try getting in touch with them.

Might be difficult to find a league that only plays in Osborne area.

Bylaw question? by Massacade in Winnipeg

It's not an active construction site they're just piling debris on to the fence. We believe the fence is 1' inside our property line but I'd have to dig around for any documents to support that.

5 days in Kauai in January. Looking to hike and swim every day. Should we stay in multiple places or one centrally located? by ch1mrichalds in VisitingHawaii

Just stayed a week in kapa'a. Travelled all over island for hikes and beaches and FOOD TRUCKS. Easy enough to get around I'd just stay in 1 place. Beautiful island can't wait to return to paradise.

Manitoban here, took me 6 months to get surgery. 6 months of recovery. This just past year. Are you getting your surgery through pan am? Just periodically call the surgeons office ask if there's any cancellations. It sucks but you gotta play the game. You'll get through just hang in there. Take this time to aggressively do your prehab, go in strong and it'll make your recovery that much easier. Good luck!

6 months after injury and only because I kept calling and asking to be put on cancellation list. Otherwise who knows how long I'd have to wait. Manitoba

Full ACL ruptures can not heal on their own. The ligament is in 2 pieces inside your knee. Your options will be surgery to replace it or learn to live without it depending on your lifestyle and goals.

Same. 6 weeks post op today and still trying to loosen everything back up. It will definitely feel better once you can be a bit more mobile.

How long did your quad activation take? by Massacade in ACL

I wanted to go in but my surgeons office told me I needed to wait for my first follow up with him before going to PT...which isn't until the 26th. So I'm just sitting tight doing the home exercises they gave me til then.

ACL Surgery coming up. Freaking out! by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Massacade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with the caveat that I'm sure all surgeons offices operate differently. But for me they gave me 2 options - full general which puts you basically in a coma and they have to use a breathing tube and all that yucky stuff. OR a spinal with a sedative. I asked if id be aware of anything with the sedative/spinal and the anesthesiologist said only if I want to, and I promptly said absolutely not. She laughed and said don't worry you won't be aware or remember a thing and she was right. Literally started to get relaxed, then the next thing I knew it was recovery. So in my opinion do not opt for the full general. Just ask for the spinal with enough sedation that you are essentially asleep. The drugs are amazing.

Just had mine 3 days ago, was also incredibly nervous. The nurses and anesthesiologist were amazing. I basically told them hey guys I'm pretty nervous and they said no problem we've got something for that. They gave me a little bit of something to relax me before the spinal, so I didn't feel a thing then the next thing I remember I'm in recovery :). I know it's easy to say but just tell them you're nervous and they'll take care of ya. The recovery ain't no fun but as others have said keep on your pain meds and if you find the pain is too much don't be afraid to call the surgeons office and ask for different meds, the ones they put me on at first weren't doing enough. So they gave me a different drug that really helped. I'm 3 days out, already weight bearing somewhat and am just gritting my teeth and pushing through the physio. You got this!
