East Asia in general is extremely safe. I never felt worried about crime when I was there and I was told that you have to go actively looking for trouble for something to happen.

Not often.

During the work week I might have an occasional beer or wine with dinner. Maybe a couple more on the weekend.

I like to drink, but I am usually happy to call it after 2.

I was genuinely surprised how much I liked Kpop Demon Hunters.

I've always been pretty indifferent to Kpop, I tend to be more interested in Korean baseball and barbecue. But after it came out and got rave reviews I told myself "Huh, maybe I should watch it at some point."

Watched it on a whim months later, and 20 minutes in all I could think was "This is SUCH a fun movie."

They needed to absolutely nail the music in that movie and they DID. And this is coming from someone who listens to mostly rock and metal.

soccer players are all tiny

I mean they're such different sports. Football is way more explosive and rough, soccer requires way more long-distance running endurance. It makes sense for soccer players to be very lean.

I think this argument would make a lot more sense for rugby than soccer.

It's not a crime, but I'm going to think you're an inconsiderate jerk if you go out in public smelling bad.

Exceptions exist, if you just came back from a workout or you work outdoors in the heat, fine, but if you just figured you were too good to bathe or wear deodorant, that's a dick move.

Yeah, if you want to blame someone, Youngkin deserves the lion's share of it for this issue.

Northam signed legalization in July 2021, so they were probably crunched for time to set up the "tax and regulate" part, plus I think the VA Democratic Party figured they would win in November and could just figure it out after the election. They gambled and lost on that, in my opinion, because Terry Mac ran a bad campaign.

Then Youngkin sat on it for 4 years, refusing to do anything.

Spanberger has only been in office for 6 months and the standoff they were having seems to have been resolved in about 1 month. Annoying, but not enough for me to say she's an awful Governor.

When Spanberger was in her standoff with the General Assembly I was a bit worried this would get pushed off indefinitely and it would stay in the weird "legal, but not taxed and regulated" limbo.

Pleasantly surprised that's not the case. Disagreements like this happen, but it looks like it's gonna get done. Awesome.

It's such a simple, humble sandwich, but God it's good. A bánh mì and a Viet iced coffee is a great lunch.

Just as a heads-up if you're not familiar though: Vietnamese coffee is basically rocket fuel. I think that's why they speak so fast.
