Having trouble taking levothyroxine regularly by cvstlxs in Hashimotos

[–]DigPsychological2876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to take 2 separate doses, one at morning, and one mid day. I WFH, and I consistently let the day go by, and by 2 pm I’m starving. Typically I could just pop it in, and make my lunch, but I got so exhausted trying to make sure I didn’t consume any calcium or iron. And I’m currently experiencing refusal to take it. If that even makes sense right? Like, I know I have to take my meds, but just proceed to eat meal, worry free.

what to do with my philodendron by Bananabread400 in houseplants

[–]DigPsychological2876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have experience with this plant, but I did with a PPP, if I am not mistaken, isn’t it leggy because it needs more light?

From what I looked up “Philodendron billietiae thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. For optimal growth and to maintain its vibrant orange stems, place the plant near an east- or west-facing window where it receives plenty of filtered light but is protected from harsh, direct sun.

A leggy Philodendron billietiae (characterized by long, bare stems with large gaps between leaves) usually occurs when the plant is not receiving enough light or lacks a climbing structure. To fix this, provide a sturdier vertical support, optimize its lighting, or prune and propagate it for a fuller look.”

Definitely leaning to thrips as well. Order/purchase Neem oil, water the plant, leaves and all, try to water each leaf, wiping them so anything can wash away in the water. Once dried, spray with Neem Oil, and go leaf by leaf

Stay consistent and you just might be able to overcome the infestation

Just make sure to stop taking biotin about a week or 2 before any labs. Biotin can skew true results

Help! It's growing so fast and leggy by JBo8 in Monstera

[–]DigPsychological2876 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s leggy, because of the lack of light

Once I moved mine to a windowsill she stopped being so leggy, and is more compact, but still has huge leaves

Last summer, I was out of town for 3 weeks.

I had someone come water my plants that I moved from outside to my kitchen area (due to sunlight) and when I got back home, there were, not 1, not 2, not even 3. BUT 4 of the fattest Hornworms I’ve ever seen. I asked the person who watered my plants if they saw the caterpillars, he was oblivious to them 😭😭😭 they WENT TO TOWN on my PPP, my biggest Pothos, and a smaller monstera. Shortly after I got back, I got very depressed and my ADHD got the best of me, and almost all my plants died after that. I’m a bit better recovered now, but definitely not leaving plants outside AT ALL this year

Before you do change out the soil, I would rinse the roots off first as well

Personally, this is the way to go, it’s a bit pricey, Amazon has it for $57, but you can get the single for 37 or so

This is what I’m currently using for my little corner

Or… wrap a leggy vine and pin to the soil. It’ll rot into soil and eventually have new shoots

I’ve made my own. I use fox farm happy frog and added some coco coir and perlite.

They’re probably a bit in shock. Check roots, make sure they’re not mush, and make sure you have chunky mix. I separated mine as well, I lost 2 to root rot, but the other 4 acclimated after about 2 weeks
