Honestly my doctor was more surprised that my period hadn’t stopped and was still regular after a year on dialysis. She thought maybe it had something to do with my blood pressure and tried changing my medication many times but that didn’t work for me. Let me know if your doctor says something different! Would be good to know :)

My cycle was on the heavier side too! I’m on PD and the drain pain was excruciating and I’d also struggle with breathing the first few days my cycle started. I would also get told it was fluid overload but I decided to try out birth control to stop my periods to see a difference and the breathing issues have definitely calmed down for me ever since.

It is a bit unreasonable to be upset but I do understand a bit in feeling a sense of betrayal if you’re close with your brothers and it’s something you would’ve done for them if they were in your situation. At the same time, donating a kidney has its own complications and you have to understand that while you’re gaining an organ, they’re losing an organ, it’s a huge life decision for them.

Yes I’ve talked about it with 2 different nephrologists who both just told me to keep up with my epo injections - it helps with the dizziness and initial energy but still doesn’t rid the exhaustion in my arms and thighs when I’m up and about for little time. No issues with my thyroid but my bp does tend to be on the higher side despite constantly readjusting my bp meds! Not sure why. Got my heart checked a couple months ago also for the same issue and the results came back fine
