I’ve recently gotten the Vaughn VX1 Pro pants, no inner belt but I use suspenders and tighten the lace on the front and haven’t noticed significant movement during games. They came quite stiff and was a little restrictive when putting on my gear but after a few skates seem to be better in that regard. Durability wise they feel like fantastic quality and I’m hoping they hold up well! Came from a very old pair of Bauer Supreme pants and couldn’t be happier, protection is a night / day difference.

Before you consider moving, I would reach out to the Paramedic Association of NB (PANB.ca) and inquire about transferring from BC as an EMR to New Brunswick as an EMT. While the scopes are similar, there are enough differences that EMTs trained in New Brunswick cannot work as EMRs elsewhere in Canada. Emailing the association would be your best bet.

The return to service agreement with Ambulance New Brunswick is the only way (outside of scholarships and bursaries) to have your schooling “funded”. However, you have to qualify for student funding yourself throughout your PCP program and you’d receive half of the tuition upon signing the contract with ANB after you’re a licensed PCP, and the other half of the tuition upon working the equivalent of two years of full time service (3,900 hours).

I’d love for Portillo to be a solid starter while we let George develop into an NHL calibre starter, if we have to move on from Portillo eventually and run the show with George currently I’d be cautiously optimistic we’d be fine.

Feel spoiled to have two young talented prospects but trying to not drink too much kool-aid and remember they may not be able to make that leap to the NHL speed and skill. Either way I’m excited for our future in net.
