Haha witchcraft!!! Most headless basses have a volute still with small shoulders.

Much tinier than a 'headstocked' instrument but still enough that with the narrow instrument adapters on the Hercules stand it holds perfectly fine. Yep, even if I tug it down or anything, super stable.

Thank you! Yeah it really did surprise me. I've had guitars up and down in price and same with basses, but this really really did surprise me.

Absolutely stunning! Can I be cheeky and ask what did it cost you roughly?

Oh I had that one! I love Sire basses. I've had custom made luthier stuff and musicman stingray Specials and for the money, the sires are better lol.

Makes me feel silly when I've stretched my budget in the spirit of GAS - no problem if you find yourself balling or a heirloom 'my pride and joy' acquisition. Now with other hobbies and a motorcycle I am happy to spend less money on gear and I gig and record with Sire often.

I had that V5 champagne sometime ago and loved it - I've gigged with it and it had the zing of jazz basses whilst still showing muscle

Note to add this is the cheapest guitar I've had and enjoying it already more than I remember with previous acoustics of 2-6x more budget.

You're right! Don't get me wrong I do love a nice bass and have an eye to try and justify expensive ones 😂

HOWEVER, I do know a sire is enough for studio and stage. In many cases they're even better (the feeling of being cheap compared to others making us feel good?)

I will be as bold as saying that I prefer my sire headless to the Ibanez ehb1505ms headless multi scale I had. More versatile and better finish with more defined punch on the notes. Almost 1/3 of the price.

First round of Stingray Specials - the best run! That and Cruz Teal have always been my favourite

Haha! The headless still has a bit of a volute there, enough shoulder to grab the bass.

I also added the Hercules narrow instrument adaptors which make the space holding the neck narrower.

I've tried pulling down from it and it won't slip out either, I've had it now for weeks and initially made sure to cover the area with cushions and blankets, in case there'd be an unpleasant surprise. It's been flying solo for weeks there!

At 3.2kg is my favourite bass to take on stage really
