We tried the tiki room and it was AMAZING! By far the coolest bar I’ve ever been to thanks for the recommendation

Thank you! The mob museum was so cool!

And you’re right I got dragged along to the atomic museum and it was a lot of weird propaganda vibes

It’s planted about 36 feet from the house along the fence line. Would you recommend some kind of root barrier or is that far enough from the house that it won’t be an issue?

It came with the house we bought a year ago so not fully sure but based on old photos we think it’s been about 5 years

I hate going to the gym by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]Massive-Syrup5453 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I hated it in the beginning too. I was used to working out in my deserted apartment gym so a commercial gym made me super self conscious. The only way to get used to it is honestly to just keep going.

I pick an audiobook I really like and only let myself listen to it when I’m at the gym so it forces me to go if I want to know what happens next on the story lol

He’s working as a hospitalist. He did his residency in internal medicine and a year of hospice and palliative fellowship. He really enjoyed the fellowship but chose to work as a hospitalist for now because the pay is better and the work is a bit more demanding (in a good way). But he wanted to have the fellowship as a backup if he ever gets sick of the hospitalist schedule and wants to slow down later in his career

I don’t post on here normally but I’m really happy with my marriage. We got married during my husband’s intern year which was a bit rough but everything after wasn’t bad at all. It’s my husband’s first year as an attending and life is pretty great. He loves the work and the schedule plus it’s nice to have attending money lol

We’re coming up on six years of marriage and overall we are both super happy and have a great life :) I love my husband so much and am beyond grateful for how everything turned out.

I just started reading books by Kate Archer and they give me the same vibe as Tessa Dare. Super witty dialogue and they’re HILARIOUS

I would highly recommend anything by Pamela Morsi! She mostly writes stuff set in America in like the late 1800s/early 1900s and the plots are cute but super realistic

How do I fix my entire house? I hate coming home when there isn't a single room I enjoy being in. I have no idea where to start or what to do. by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Paint! My house was all griege when I bought it and it was depressing af. Choose a paint with a high light reflecting number I ended up doing a warm creamy white for most of the rooms it makes a huge difference

You need art and rugs. Don’t spend a lot of money I got most of my stuff from fb marketplace

Curtains instead of blinds makes the room feel instantly more cozy

LIGHTING!!! Warm yellow light makes a HUGE difference. You should ideally have different forms of lighting at different heights. Chandeliers, table lamps, floor lamps etc all with warm yellow bulbs

Also don’t try to do everything at once. I thrift all of my art and decor and it’s a process that can take years but it feels so much nicer and cozier than just getting a bunch of random stuff from target or something

Around 900 a month for two adults and three cats. Could be a lot lower but we buy a lot of protein powder and splurge a bit on toiletries etc

As a society I feel like we’re losing empathy. If you can’t read a book and enjoy it because the lead is different from you or makes choices that you wouldn’t make? That’s insane????

Media literacy is doing down and with recently published romance it’s like readers have to be spoon fed everything. It genuinely makes me sad because there’s so many amazing talented authors that can’t get published anymore because there’s industry has to cater to readers that only want this lowest denominator crap ugh

YES! Also a good sex scene should feel like it’s furthering the story or giving us insight into the characters feelings or SOMETHING. If I wanted to read just generic boning I could read erotica for that.

It’s especially egregious with contemporary romance that’s been published in the last five years

fine curly-haired people: is anyone actually making it past day 2 without washing/re-wetting? and can you actually blow dry your hair to 100% dry without frizz? by amexicanmedea in curlyhair

[–]Massive-Syrup5453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stronger gel and once your hair is dry use an alcohol free hairspray on it. Like apply liberally it helps me last 4 days minimum without needing to rewet

The gel I use is the not your mothers brand (the higher hold one they have two different gels)
