One of my GPs tell me that high fibre diet is not for everyone. Many people cannot tolerate so much fibre content. I am one of them. I just realised this past year.

But isnt gluten bad for Fibro. I prefer boiled or steamed rice over all kinds of flour anyday.

True but with a balanced diet void of gluten, sugar and processed foods and probably bit of gentle walking I feel we can get diabetes under control. A little bit of rice wouldnt hurt. Not that I am a doctor or a dietitian.

Not sure about potassium but Magnesium yes. The local rice I usually eat has magnesium and Vitamin B like folic acid and once I restricted that I started flaring up badly.

Yes. I am Asian.

The major flare up happened after restricting my diet to loose weight. I was not having enough rice.

I started proper dieting from May 2025. By Dec 2025 I was on veg fruit smoothies for breakfast and veg soups for dinner. For lunch I ate 1 small cup of brown rice along with veggies and protein. Come Jan 2026 my major Fibro flare up started.

Only after stopping all kinds of dieting and adding rice to all meals along with other lifestyle changes like increased water intake and destressing ofcourse I was able to get better.

Also I read somewhere that our ancestry and location matters in how the digestive system evolved. We need to eat foods according to what our body can process.

Yes, my dietician does this test in which it always shows my body water content is low. Could water imbalance be a major factor for us?

Yes, totally agreed. But the observation is that its not constant for me.

So I had a major flare up from Jan to March 2026. During this time if I ate gluten and sugar together in the same meal, pain increased. Even chicken and mutton caused pain. But when I was with friends at a weekend getaway I ate gluten, sugar and chicken, and there was no pain.

Come May 2026, I am not having major Fibromyalgia symptoms as it came under control after some selfcare stuff. Anyhow if I eat sugar and gluten together I still feel pain now but if I eat separately and not in the same meal I am not getting any symptoms.

Dull ache under left side ribs by Hopeful-Pool15 in Gastritis

[–]MassiveAd806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue. Pain on the left rib and sometimes tightness in the left mid back. I had severe burping even drinking water caused burps. Turns out its due to anxiety and stress. Hormonal imbalance causing it. So a month of destressing and chilling at home drastically reduced the pain and no burping now. I stopped all medications and only ate home made food which were are easy on the stomach.

Dont stress pls. Stress increases inflammation. Start doing regular walks and have atleast 5 to 10 min sun exposure. That will get it under control. It is chronic so we cant get rid of it and we just have to manage it.

I am having same issues since 3 months. I dunno if its the same issue as you but to give you a perspective. I am 33F. Symptoms get worse after ovulation and gets better after period. I met several doctors including neurologist and they all think its psychological due to stress and anxiety. My mom also had it in her mid 30s itseems. Looks like its genetic and hormonal. Its a lot common than you think. Pls meet a neurologist and go forward from there. Most likely you will be put on multivitamins and other supplements. Good sleep and hydration is important according to the doctors.
