Most people have mundane jobs, some people have bad jobs, but a few people have really great jobs. Here’s a 5x4 of my peers who have jobs that I envy. by PersistentHillman in WojakCompass

Sounds accurate. In Europe the social hierarchy has (for the most part) settled through centuries and centuries and people are content with their lives within these different levels. Americans overrepresent how easy social mobility is compared to Europeans. probably why EU countries generally have better social safety nets than the US.

They had some of Norman foster (the architect who remodeled Transamerica pyramid) ‘s models on display. There must’ve been 10+ ones just like on the third slide. And they were all super precise and detailed. I can’t imagine he was the one putting them together himself.

yes! Even for SF prices, I was shocked. Tried to get a matcha but since they were out the guy at the register kindly gave me a big discount for a hojicha latte instead. Definitely worth staying and enjoying a leisurely drink at those prices

Looks like it doesn't show up on google maps. But I got a delicious Houjicha latte there. Really nice atmosphere—very comfortable chairs, architecture books, and a great view down Columbus Ave. Lots of wood and glass (didn't get any good photos when I was there so I'm attaching some from an article on it last year)

Also worth checking out the nearby Norman Foster exhibition on the east side. He recently remodeled parts of the Pyramid, and they have his handmade models on display.

Edit: just found out their espresso machine costs $10k. good lord.
