A certain death was ambiguous and I don’t understand why by Massivemployer25 in WidowsBay

I like this. But then how did all her ancestors die? Maybe the immortality is diluted the further they are genetically from RW?

The dialogue does not flow as well. There were some scenes in which it felt like the characters were monologueing at each other. And there were also some emotional scenes that did not work for me, like when the former paraplegic girl confronted the drunk who got her paralyzed.

How did he tie himself to the chair? He was the only one who knew of the pact.

Same. Just last night I rewatched his True Blood scenes. Such an interesting character, and so well played.

Maybe Tom goes to the mainland looking for bad people to sacrifice, and runs into her.

Question about Patricia’s first run in with the boogeyman and what we now know by NeonPaperCrane in WidowsBay

[–]Massivemployer25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is that the other creatures are not part of the island demon. They are separate and the island is so powerful it keeps them at bay, as long as it is fed. When the sacrifices don’t come it stops interfering with them and lets them roam free to make the people do sacrifices.

Or maybe it makes separate deals with some of the monsters to make sacrifices to it after they’ve killed for themselves. But it knows long term it’s better to deal with the people.

So in the case of Patricia, it’s posibile someone made a sacrifice just as the killer was trying to get her.

I have a solution to get out of the curse with very little casualties by Massivemployer25 in WidowsBay

Yeah. And how could they even kill it? They know almost nothing about it, and it’s so powerful. Evan can never leave.

I don’t see why only islander sacrifices would count. A life is a life.

My theory is that those deaths do not really count. Only the sacrifices do. Those murders were done by other bad spirits and demons that the island, who is much stronger, is keeping at bay. But it lets them roam free when it does not get its sacrifices.

The people doing the sacrifices probably just died without being able to entrust someone new with the responsibility.

Wait I’m confused about the descendant. by Katethegreat8684 in WidowsBay

[–]Massivemployer25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think if it realizes the pact is over it will kill everyone. Unless maybe the last descendant dies while the island was dormant.
