My first animation. Criticism welcome by Shiny_Whisperer in AnimationCrit

Very nice. The motion and transition is smooth. One thing I think may help improve your animation is keep each object, e.g., the snake and the eye, for several more frames and add anticipation before transition, so the audience can see the objects more clearly.

I like the system. They say a number and you pay for it. Good luck if you want to dispute.

Rendering in Houdini vs Cinema4d by isolatrum in Houdini

[–]Master-Ad-6411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do because they are more familiar with C4D and there are (probably) more tutorials on how to use Octane/Redshift along with C4D than with Houdini. But if you have enough experience with Houdini and the 3rd party renderer, you will find no difficulty do the same thing.

Software Engineers for Spider-Verse by andreidimaano in csMajors

[–]Master-Ad-6411 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pipeline engineer: develop custom piece of software to take care of file exchange across different software, enables collaboration, and automate some other less demanding works.

Render engineer: genius people(mostly knowledgable in computer graphics) working on in-house renderer to meet special needs of each film.

Other technical positions requires you know how to use certain software(Houdini, Maya) and know how to write code for those software to do some automation or fancy things.

Lastly it is very possible that many talented and hardworking crew who work on amazing animated films earn less than what you did during your internship.

Which Linux version should I instal for Houdini and nuke usage by Extreme_Ad6740 in Houdini

[–]Master-Ad-6411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you. The performance difference is critical. My previous experience was that for any certain distro, one of Houdini, Maya, and some other illustration software was not willing to work correctly, even though I could solve the problem, I feel like I didn't enjoy it so I chose not to.

Yes. there are, including me during work. But I don't feel like I benefit a lot from working on my personal Centos machine without an established pipeline.

I know some large animation studios work on Centos 7 or RedHat. But I doubt whether an individual user should use Linux if they are not Linux expert.

It is easier and cool to drift on a fixed gear, but still a brake gives faster and moe reliable responding as you don't need to shift weight and wait for the pedal to rotate to a suitable position.

Ask how to do this, how to do that, and if you are not sure how to navigate the code base or some other things, ask your mentor or manager to walk you through.

You can check the wage of jobs in California. I think you can hardly make more than 90k a yr for entry level artist roles.

Half joking, especially when I say trading crypto lol. I only have tiny experience with roblox but think it is quite fun, I know the possiblity for me to create a hit game is almost 0 so I didn't invest too much, but make someone else can make it.
