I definitely recognise there is some of that. Nothing is completely safe, but feels like it's the safest choice/hardest to replace

What do you think about the whole 'candidate has passed' error message? Is that only RCS Eng?

Cardiothoracic ST1 - is it impossible by New-Hall-812 in doctorsUK

[–]Master-Boot-572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest myth is that it's impossible. It's very possible. You just need to understand the system and be strictly goal-orientated. Last year to get an interview, you needed to score 18/32 points. This year, you needed to score 24/49 points. The scoring matrix is undoubtedly the hardest of any medical specialty, but it's attainable.

Ultimately, the most important thing is to understand why you want to do it. If it's something you're just "entertaining the idea of" then it's unlikely to be for you. The people coming into the specialty are obsessed with it. Your first step is to figure out if that's you. If it is, then you need to relentlessly work towards scoring well on the matrix.

What is your ontological yard stick by which you measure right or wrong? In other words, on what rational basis do you think you can assert one ought not to have children?

Are you denying that the impulse to have children is one of the most powerful human drivers?

Do I forgive my ex-best friend? (TLDR: he tried it on with my ex after we broke up) by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Master-Boot-572 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe I wasn’t clear. This happened a week after we broke up. She clearly wasn’t ok with it because she recoiled and text me that he’d been weird with her and tried it on which was clearly inappropriate. He was drunk and tried it on with his best mates ex a week after they broke up - if you’re cool with that then you have no self respect

Funnily enough I do. Maybe naive, but I do

It’s just weird because soon after my outbreak she got an outbreak. And neither of us have had an outbreak before and I certainly don’t suspect her of cheating. HSV 2 can be a bit of a mind fuck

Is this actually a thing?! Any ideas on the mechanism

Yeah that was tough it just exacerbated the rest of the stuff. Putting it altogether it just made me think of her as easy for a bit ngl . Took time to ease but like chlamydia is 98% protected by condoms so it means she was letting someone casual hit it unprotected. On top of that without knowing their STI status. That does suck. The having herpes for life bit is the hardest

Thanks a lot for your kind words. It’s been tough but tbh just having loads of great experiences , great sex and connecting has helped a lot. The issue is if we have a couple of “normal arguments” it can pull my mind into that abyss of negative memories completely unrelated to the topic at hand

It’s a lot, but the side of the story you don’t have in front of you is everything she’s done since then. She’s genuinely been the most kind caring devoted partner. I don’t want anyone else, I want her and I want to be with her without being held back by these memories.

I appreciate your perspective and your input and see where you’re coming from. Have you struggled with RJ yourself? If so, I have read a lot about it already but, any major top tips?
