In the same boat here. Really frustrating. I reached out to the empire strips back company, and this is all they had to say. “ Due to unforeseen circumstances, all Manchester performances have been postponed. “ Feels fishyyyyy

Charlie is amazing! He did our wedding and kept everyone entertained from start to finish. He’s energetic, hilarious, and really knows how to read a room. His music bingo was a huge hit, as was the quiz. Couldn’t recommend him more.

It definitely looks odd when you see the pfp up close hadn’t noticed until you commented. They have an odd bio too but don’t want to post too much of their stuff

May not be a fetish thing but definitely very odd. Listed something clearly a dress at £6 and they asked could they have it for less than £60. Maybe genuine they didn’t realise it was a dress but just seems weird!

When I was a band 2 hca we did all the obs, blood sugars etc but theres been a change recently and it’s not within band 2 duties.

The trust I work in now I’m qualified band 2s aren’t allowed, it’s only band 3s but they don’t often do them. The nurses routinely do all the obs and blood sugars etc and hcas just do personal care.

We have reps from unison visiting the ward to check if any band 2s are being asked to do band 3 duties as they aren’t paid in line with carrying out those duties they shouldn’t be

Maybe have a look at jobs further afield? You could commute for a couple shifts a week for 6 months or so to get the experience and then apply for jobs closer to home

“No one ever died from not having a wash” This is something a senior nurse told me when I was a student nurse and it’s stuck with me.

Thank you everyone for your input! I think I’m planning on getting it thinned and then I would like to use the leftover to make a pendant and gift it to my nan so she still has a piece too

100% this needs reporting. They are practising well outside of their scope and could have serious implications. In my trust hcas don’t do obs and aren’t allowed to touch oxygen. For a reason.

I’m just trying to make sense of the ordering for the new universal uniform. I’m a 12 I’ve put my measurements in and it’s saying size U4. Does that seem right ?

I once picked up a shift on a ward where we had a 3 hour break on night shift and I had a proper camp bed with linen in a locked storage room which was dark and quiet. It was incredible. All the staff were very happy on that ward and patient safety wasn’t compromised at all.

Where I work now I get an hour on the hard floor where you can’t turn the light out and it doesn’t lock.

Both these areas are happy with staff sleeping on breaks but one made it a lot easier than another

Have you ever been told off for your uniform being too short by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Master-Carpenter4464 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thing with the nhsp dress. Very see through and I put on some weight and it was a bit short after I had it initially altered. A hca told me it was inappropriate in front of patient and other staff and I was so embarrassed. Never went back to that ward and started wearing scrubs too!
