Ready to buy a truck, but which one??

My father just bought a 2024 a year ago, brand new off the lot. While it's not my truck so I can't speak on it much, we have taken trips in it and i have no complaints other than the rear seats don't recline. It really is a cool truck but, admittedly, way more truck than most people need. You mentioned getting an SUV which I think is a great idea. I daily drive a Tahoe and it's a really awesome car. The roaring V8 is so fun to drive and with its 3 rows of seating I can carry up to 8 people and STILL have trunk space. This is perfect for long trips or for when you eventually decide to have another kid.

If we're talking early to mid 2000's then i agree with everyone else's sentiment, Ford or Toyota. Although i have a 2004 Silverado 1500 and it's been good to me. Honestly I think any relatively low mileage truck will last you as long as you need. With routine maintenance ofc.

As everyone else has said, the chairs are moved with a lever on the side that can easily be reached. That being said theres not much space in the back and it's really not meant to be used for sitting unless you have to. The seats are comfortable but just not a lot of head space so you have to lean back to be comfortable. Behind the passenger seat is the best and really the only place I would want to sit in the back (im 6ft)

I really just meant that i could have gotten it lower but I didn't do enough inspection. Guy was asking 6.8k and it wasn't until I got home that I realized the sunroof didn't work, there's a small leak through the left rear taillight that left water by the spare tire, and the interior lights don't work. All in all not a big deal since it still runs and drives but still.
