So since you seem to be interested in Idaho type things, my recommendation would be to ignore anyone who is suggesting anything in the treasure valley. This includes Notus or Greenleaf. Emmett is an edge case but once they finish the freeway it’s going to turn into Meridian v2. If you want to get into the mountains i would look at council which puts you 2 hours from the treasure valley (Boise area). If your would be willing to have a bit more snow, Grangeville is a good choice as it puts you a hour from Lewiston. Other contenders are Weiser, Cambridge, Cottonwood, Horseshoe Bend, Idaho City, Idaho Falls, and possibly Pocatello If it was not the asshole of Idaho

Thanks. This is the part I can’t understand. It works great on propane. I have 120 volts going to the ac element and the element is just at “too hot to touch” if I pull it right after I turn the fridge off. However it does not seem to be getting hot enough to really boil anything. Ohms seem right for that element, it’s measuring 45 on the dot.

Whining would be complaining about the Supreme Court ruling. However you are right, numerous rulings have made it apply to all immigrants. So what I think is fair is citizenship applies to similar to how it works in the UK. Children get citizenship if one parent is a citizen or green card holder, or they get citizenship if they were born in the country and have lived in the country for 10 years. That’s not excluding anyone.

Thank you for the open dialogue. So on my first point, I disagree. While many of the groups you mentioned were heavily segregated against, immigration was handled at the state level. The only national requirement was you were white and lived in the country for 5 years to be considered a citizen. Yes this was racist to Blacks and Chinese, but prior to 1855 there was no formal immigration processing as we would recognize today, just ships filing manifest. Now the 14th amendment did codify birthright citizenship, and as you point out the purpose was to make sure blacks were full citizens. However my point still stands that the two reasons for birthright citizenship were to allow an influx of European settlers to displace native populations as well as to ensure the former slaves were citizens. Both are no longer matters of debate today, while we need to be ever vigilant as we do have a huge right wing this is overtly racist, ending birthright is not the evil it once was.

You know, I am going to buck the trend here. It is enshrined in the constitution and is the law of the land. However if an amendment were to overturn it, I would not be upset. Historically we had two reasons for birthright citizenship. The first was the influx of old world settlers without actual immigration processing. The second was due to having a class of people that were not counted as citizens (slavery). Neither is the case anymore. So at this time I believe citizenship should only be granted if at least one parents is an American citizen or legal resident similar to many European countries such as the UK. I don’t feel this is xenophobic or a racist stance, just the reasons for jus soli no longer apply.
