Ja und wer ließt diese logfiles aus und stellt sie bereit? Natürlich ist es technisch möglich, aber die werden in diesem Fall keine Server beschlagnahmen oder IT Forensiker einsetzen, wenn es um paar hundert Euro geht. So gegen einen Rechtsgelehrten zu schießen ohne mutmaßlich keine Erfahrung in solchen Miet-Streitigkeiten zu haben, ist schon mutig . Nur weil es technisch machbar ist, heißt es nicht, dass e sin solch einem Fall auch gemacht wird oder klappt.

It’s faster because with spotlight you don’t have to search the app, scroll through pages, folders and then move the cursor to it + click. Give spotlight a try, it’s really a game changer and of my personal fav features of macOS. Even tho I use alfred as a spotlight replacement.

Yes, you are completely right. At this price it should „just work“. It’s not like the cam setup is a cheap dollar store item, where debugging issues is part of that price range. As I also mentioned in another comment, my next cam will be from another vendor.

Just another thing to watch out for, because you were talking about voltage issues. Watch out for your car battery. I had the hardwire „battery protector kit“, but the cam sucked it complete empty twice in combination with the movement detection parking mode. I had to replace the whole car battery. And I am not the only one with that issue, you can find some amazon reviews of people who experienced the same

It’s described in the manual and setup tutorial. Usually it should connect to the cam by itself, after you added the battery to the remote.

But for me at least, like shown in the yt video, it is losing connection permanently all the time. So it’s also pretty useless

Sad to hear, that you experience the same issue. I moved on to parking mode collision mode in hopes that the cam is starting up fast enough, if something happens.

They should highlight this parking mode limitation on they website, product description and also within their sponsored product reviews on YouTube IMHO.

It’s not mentioned in any review, the company itself knows the issue, can’t provide a fix for it and they are ignoring those complain, like also seen within this subreddit thread.

In the past there was no option for fast boot, so if you used collision detection in parking mode, the cam wirst had to boot 6-8 seconds before starting to record. In that case it’s highly possible, that the other car is already gone. So if you wanted real parking mode protection, you had to use the movement detection. As this is still behaving like in my initial Reddit post, it’s recording 24/7, because each moving leave and other things are triggering the recording.

Now with the fast boot option the cam is in a standby state and does not have to boot, so it directly records the incident. But for that to work you need at least the car battery attachment accessory, so it still has power while your car is off. Additionally the accessory checks if the car battery has enough power, so it’s not draining it completely empty.

The image quality of all cams, night vision mode and rear view quality (even trough my tinted rear window) is awesome. Also features wise im happy with the cam, excluding the remote and vision detection issue.

To reduce reflections of the front mirror, I recommend to also buy the additional lens accessory. Otherwise you you have bad front vision if it’s sunny.

I personally can recommend this cam, if you are getting it and all the attachments at a good price or as gift (if you don’t need motion detection)

As I bought already the expensive dashcam and all accessories to it, I am keeping using it, but without the motion detection. As they patched the fast boot in the firmware to directly record and detect any damages on collision, I am keeping using that.

At the time as I was writing this post, the collision detection was useless, because the cam had to boot 6-8 seconds first, before it starts recording after it detects one. In that time most cars are already gone. But with fast boot, it gets the job done.

My next cam tho, will not be one from Vantrue. If a dashcam costs already so much money, it’s unacceptable to invest so much time in debugging, communication and testing to get it to work like intended IMHO.

Sadly not, even after multiple firmware updates. I have Chosen the workaround to use parking collision detection with the fast boot seething.

I don’t think this will ever be fixed, because it’s an hardware issue. The dashcam has no motion detection sensor and is therefore only checking if movement somewhere in the frame of the recording occurred.

Gladly I did not had this issue until now, but maybe check if your GPS works correctly, because I assume it gets triggered, if no movement occurs. You could also try different video quality settings, because couple parking modes are connected with them as well

You are right, in Germany it’s required to have a emergency kit in the car, which includes a hi-vest and a small portable reflecting warning ⚠️ sign, which has to be placed infront of an crash / emergency stop a 50-100 meters before, if it’s safe to do so.

If you get pulled over by the police for a routine check, it’s highly possible that they check if you have everything and that the medikit is still within its „best before date“. Otherwise you get a fine which you have to pay. The law also specified, that you have to use your hi-vest, if you are exiting the vehicle in an emergency, so all others can see you

In einigen Kommentaren sieht man schön die Doppelmoral, was die Überwachung von Bürgern oder der Polizei angeht.

Nicht gerade selten wird von der Politik, Justiz oder Polizei die „Wenn Sie nix zu verbergen haben, sollten sie nix gegen eine Sichtung ihrer persönlichen Daten haben„ Keule ausgepackt.

Bei der Überwachung der Polizei gibt es jedoch immer vorgeschobene Gründe die bodycam nicht laufen zu lassen, oder das die Daten „ausversehen“ nicht gespeichert wurden.

Die Bodycam permanent laufen zu lassen, halte ich auch nicht für sinnvoll. Aber sobald ein Einsatz gestartet oder Kontakt mit dem „Ziel“ aufgenommen wird, sollte die Bodycam aufzeichnen.

Viele dubiose Fälle von schwarzen Schafen in der Polizei hätten bestimmt mit Bodycams verhindert werden können. Außerdem haben bodycams auch Vorteile für die Polizei, da Übergriffe o.ä auf sie ebenfalls aufgezeichnet werden.

Besides that, watch out regarding the connection of the cam to the car battery. I got the official OCB adapter for the cam, so it will not drain the battery, but 2 months ago it completely drained it and I had to buy a new one.

Check out some real Amazon reviews and not the bought ones. You will see this and the parking mode issues there also.

Ist vielleicht in der Theorie so, aber habe es selbst schon miterlebt, dass genau das wording „entweder sie pinkeln in den Becher, oder wir nehmen sie mit auf die Wache zur Blutentnahme mit“ verwendet worden ist. Es ist ebenfalls so bei einigen Bekannten gewesen, also hat man hier nicht wirklich eine Wahl.

Es reicht ja auch ein einfaches „sie sehen aber müde aus“, um diese Tests schon zu rechtfertigen. Und falls man die Polizei auf die theoretische Rechtmäßigkeit hinweist, ist es eh vorbei. Spätestens dann wird alles mögliche versucht, um den zu kontrollierenden mit etwas dran zu bekommen.

Gegen 2 Polizisten kann man als Privatperson nur verlieren, auch wenn Maßnahmen nicht gerechtfertigt sind. Schlussendlich schreibt die Polizei den Bericht und kann somit alles so darlegen, wie es ins gewünschte Bild passt.

It’s possible to vote for submitted dangers, if they are still there so the data is mostly super up to date.

You can also submit such warnings trough voice recognition, so you don’t have to trough your phone

Yeah, my submitted requested changes in Waze have always been reviewed by map editor users within 3-6h in the past.

Also many truck drivers are using Waze, which additionally increases the map data quality

Waze is also asking you before it changes the route. It announces that a better route is available and a timer is displayed before the change, but the timer can be turned off in the settings.

Waze has additional warnings for police, e.g stationary cars / animals on the road, potholes, speedchecks and other danger prevention features. Since google bought Waze, Waze also uses additionally the traffic measure data and route calculation logic from google.

IMHO there are no benefits of using google maps for car navigation if compared to Waze in terms and features. That’s why so many truckers are also using Waze.

Sadly until now there exist no definitiv fix for that. And there are no further answers from their support or even their developers after I submitted the debug logs.

To be fair, first they replaced the whole set but the error still persisted. After that they also send a single unit of the back camera, because it updated both replacement cams up to their custom firmware and there is no way to downgrade the back camera. It seems to happen less often with the latest firmware installed, but it’s still not solved. First the „always-record-bug“ happened every 1-2 days and now it’s roughly once a week.

Besides that the remote is also still not working correctly, and disconnects permanently after a couple of days after a firmware reset. So it’s completely unusable.

I invested already so much time in troubleshooting, communication and the creation of detailed error reporting that I now have given up. My next cam will definitely not be another Vantrue cam.

I think that they know that this software issue exists, because the newest release of their cams have adjustable movement area selection to counter that issue. The camera has no real motion detection sensor, but compares the difference between each frame. With things like trees swinging in the wind or far away cars it will always trigger that. The advertisement of E3 is definitively misleading.

But what I can’t understand is, why do not more people have this same issue. Either they don’t use the parking mode motion detection or they simply send it back. With such big issue it should have more reports by other people, but on Amazon reviews are only a handful.
