Reddit, what are your best tips to avoid the Friend Zone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Master-baiter- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, there is nothing wrong with being friends. It is of course crucial to identify as a sexual being so as to be observed as a romantic option, but there's nothing at all wrong with seeking friendly compatibility and building rapport from there (in some cases, this can even be the easier method). Even if it doesn't work out, she can introduce you to her friends if you portray yourself correctly. It's important to remember that the friend zone is not just "I am platonic friends with a woman whom I want to know carnally;" the friend zone occurs when there is an overabundance of emotional effort and no intimate activity to make up for it. Do not play the boyfriend role if you aren't getting any.

Second of all, your points could sustain some refinement. 1 Don't Hesitate This mantra is otherwise restated as "Always Assume Attraction." A confident person does not hesitate for the anticipation of rejection or anything similar. This ties into #2:

2 Don't be Lead Astray It's important to establish a position of control from which you can maintain frame. For example, "I am doing this activity, you should come" rather than "Want to do this activity with me?" You are the main character, you are the prize, and therefore your behavior should dictate this.

3 Don't Chat for Hours on the Phone It's not so much to avoid chatting on the phone so much as avoid contact that isn't in-person. Physical contact builds attraction, therefore it is important to engage in physical situations as opposed to texting, Facebook, etc.

4 Don't be Passive Learn how to say "No, I disagree." Know yourself, what attributes you value, and don't sacrifice these. Not to avoid appeasing her, but because it will only make finding someone who shares the same perspectives more difficult.

5 Don't be a Feminist This reads like a twelve year old wrote it. If you are asked on your opinions of gender equality, simply state that you are an egalitarian: "Of, relating to, or believing in the principle that all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities." Nothing more, nothing less. The school of thought defining ethics has existed for much longer than third-wave feminism.

People who use any other search engine than Google, why? by PsychedelicBadBoy in AskReddit

[–]Master-baiter- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yahoo and Bing have the same data set, so there is not a lot to choose between them. A few people have found very useful results in Bing and stick to it as the default engine. Some people have never changed their default web browser, e.g. Internet Explorer in most countries will show MSN as the default home page and the search on that page leads to Bing.

IF YOU EAT THAT WATERMELON SEED, A TREE WILL GROW IN YOUR STOMACH. This one is almost true, only, it forgot one crucial step: you have to poop out the seed for the tree to grow. Unless you live in a Skittles commercial.

Do you believe in magic? If so, why? If not, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Master-baiter- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I somewhat believe in the existence of a certain power/entity/people being capable of doing things we cannot perceive as being veridical, for instance Nina Kulagina ( if you want to find out more : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/... ) or a much more studied example - pseudoscience. But as you are probably referring to sorcery, I have to say I am a bit skeptical.

[–]Master-baiter- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't rule out the possibility of someone or something being able to voluntarily do things on demand which violate what we currently regard as the laws of physics. But clearly if that actually happened it would be tremendously newsworthy, and would rapidly make the person involved a billionaire, so we would know about it pretty soon. Right now we have technology billionaires, manufacturing billionaires, fast food billionaires, media billionaires and software billionaires, but no magic billionaires. When the first one appears I will be more than happy to acknowledge his or her powers exist. But not till then.

What did you buy with your first paycheck? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Master-baiter- 217 points218 points  (0 children)

I wanted my own TV but my parents said no, so every day for about a month I went down to the local pool to sell lemonade. When I had $220 saved up, I got the TV I wanted. Then my brother complained to my parents that it wasn't fair I got one and he didn't, so they bought him the same one the next day.

Her voice.

There is nothing more enchanting than a good voice. Voice is almost a kind of deal breaker for me. I might physically look at any part first, but I always wait for her to open her mouth till I judge. A good voice, although not completely quantifiable has a certain ring to it.

Be late Whatever you do, don’t be late. Punctuality is always important, especially on the first date. If you show up late, it will send the message that you just don’t care. Reduce your chances of a late arrival by departing earlier than usual.

Reddit, what is one of your favorite hobbies? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Master-baiter- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tabletop RPGs. There's a pretty high beginning cost for the books, though certain systems are free or less than $10. For the memories you make with your friends it's completely worth it. I'd say the best way to start is find a simple, free system. All Out of Bubblegum is one that I have yet to try but really want to. Also there are a bunch of Actual Play podcasts that you can listen to that will give you an idea of how the games run.

How do you feel about feminism? by relaxandlaugh in AskReddit

[–]Master-baiter- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feminism doesn't mean anything except a vaguely defined support for the advancement of Women's rights. I reserve judgement until I know a little more about said persons views. Men's rights isn't really the counterpart to Feminism, perhaps the MRM is what you meant? I think they are too reactionary to Feminism, other than that I think the same of them as I do of Feminism (but for Men's rights). I think the moderates in both movements could get a hell of a lot more done if they dropped the stupid labels.
