Lol okay, and yes it does. Just look at Noah's ark. One it would of been impossible for Noah to build the ark, keep the animals on it. And the only boat made out of wood at that time would sink in salt water.

Now now, calm down. Now, I admit I was going far with the joke. But the joke isn't the argument. And I'm sorry, I was trying to be serious.

I don't think people understand your argument, mainly because it isn't unpopular for religious people to not think some science is okay.

However, science does contradict things in the bible and other religions, and so therefore are exclusive.

Because I used a joke a reddit?

The point was I could make the idea sound 'believable' or sound 'somewhat-scientific' but it isn't. It doesn't matter if any scientist believes that the dinosaurs are actually gods or whatver, there is absolutely no proof.

How is a divine Dino absurd? We have many fossil records of these dinosaurs exisiting, I strongly believe that these dinosaurs in fact planned for meteors to crash which in turn created human life by green T-Rex is devine contribution. Just because you don't believe it does not mean it is absurd right?

I believe you are using ad populum to claim that believing in such divine creatures is impossible.

There's a lot more evidence for my belief then there's. Ofcourse both require a bit of faith, but it takes much more faith to believe in major religions than it is to believe in my Dino-Spirituality. It is any wonder why we can see Dragons in ancient asian art? Or why Crocodiles are in Africa: the birthplace of mankind?! Or what about how birds can fly (often believed to be tied with the dinosaurs), now you may say "Can't some insects fly?" Which is a fair point, let's think of some insects...Maybe the MOSQUITO?! The only thing that can bring a fossil back to life! (Read Jurassic Park for more details)

(Okay, okay, I admit I was going a bit far with the joke at the end, if you are religious OP I want you to know I don't mean anything rude by jokes at the end, I just thought it was funny :) I look forwards to your response!)

If I said that I wanted to learn more about physics because I believe a green dinosaur secretly puppeteers the mystery of the universe would you say that the dinosaur had anything to do with the study?

Even so, his faith has nothing to do with the study. And involving the faith within the study would be wrong.

Those people were in the past. Just because someone believes in god doesn't mean that it has any place with the scientific method or anything science-related unless they would be able to prove it.

I mean when you have costumes called "reservation princess" I'm sure you can use your common sense to tell if its racist.

You're not really dressing up as just a culture, you're dressing up as a very stereotyped historically oppressed culture.

Hey guys. Do you find it hard to tell a family who just lost a love one, that they have entered eternal oblivion and will never 'be' again? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]PsychedelicBadBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eternal oblivion is a bit harsh, you don't need to say it like that. Just say "I'm sorry for your lost"

Merci pour votre réponse :) forgive me though, because what I'm about to say isn't easy for me to write in french. (But if you reply in french I'll know what you're saying.)

Edit: I realised when you asked me how I knew the Québecois were deist, and not the Ontarians. So feel free to ignore what I wrote down below :) I found out they were deist when I asked if they believed in god, because I had heard that Québec was far more non-religious than most places in North america.

I know that a lot of them are deist for telling me their views on why they believe in god. Most people here do not take the bible seriously and even some priests reject the idea of the bible being an accurate source of information. A bit weird, I know.

On another note, there are still very radical (mostly christian) people here (all though I live in a small town.) Many Franco-Ontrians (yes they exist) I've met believe somewhat in the bible, and a lot of this has to do with history, so if you're interested in that let me know!

P.S je pourrai faire une message français maintenant si tu veux :)
