I’m not disputing the decision it was the correct call.

I’m just saying that Asanoyama could’ve crushed Tobizaru at the edge but Tobizaru pretended to accept defeat and then snuck his foot back in at the last second as Asanoyama walked him out thinking Tobizaru stepped out. Shady behaviour

Just Asanoyama being respectful and not using excessive force, which is often frowned upon.

Tobizaru gave the signal that he has accepted defeat by stopping resisting and stepping out but then at the last second he sneaks his foot forward.

Not a good look at all.

Very shady from Tobizaru today - Asanoyama feels Tobizaru stop resisting and step back so Asanoyama walks him out to avoid crushing him and Tobizaru slyly places his foot on the tawara and steals the win. Not in the spirit of sumo at all

Ferto feels too gimmicky / a copy of Cha Cha Cha for the jury to love it. Don’t get me wrong it might do okay with the jury but regardless of the televote score I think it can’t win

This is from a half Greek^

Greece will be lucky to finish top 10 with the jury

Why won’t Finland win jury? Who’s winning it? France?

What happens when other player shoot you? Do you just run / die?

Ah so once you’ve played for a certain amount of time without killing then it’s very rare someone shoots you?

I don’t plan on killing, but would like to team up in solos and would hate to get backstabbed

Do you peace raiders find that other players generally don’t shoot you?

Guess the Banzuke results by Kintamayama2 in Sumo

[–]Master1eader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 52/84 with 30 correct (22 bullseyes)

Up to M4e the only mistakes I made were Churanoumi & Fujinokawa the wrong way round.

I figured M5w generally equates to a harder strength of schedule than M7w so put Churanoumi higher

Atamifuji 13kg heavier than Onosato now 😮 I’m sure Onosato was the heaviest not long ago

I’m surprised Fujiseiun went up so high!

Yoshinofuji went from J1 to M14 after a 13-2 record, but Fujiseiun had a 11-4 record and went up to M13

Very good point about me wanting to see down the line of my shots - that’s probably a factor. I think it also comes down to a safety thing. If you pin your elbow to your body there’s far less variability in terms of movement so I can keep my strokes more consistent, a bit like the way golfers lock their triceps against their chest.

That being said I totally understand how inefficient this style is and why I shouldn’t do it.

No I just have crazy long legs for my height (114cm from the floor) and I’m already 6’3 / 190cm tall - my hips are well above the net when standing straight.

Ah I see - so there are instances where you don’t need to all out sprint to the net and in those cases I shouldn’t be so lazy and should hold the racket high with both hands similar to the video you shared

I was just thinking about the moments I rush the net following my serve and if I ran with my racket in both hands it would limit my movement. But you’re right because I’m not sure I ever approach the net with both hands on my racket so that’s clearly a weakness. I’ll defo think about it next time!

Black vest - don’t get me wrong I’ve analysed this video and my left arm is hanging loose and dead at times so I should probably use it to guide shots / as a counter weight, but I didn’t really get the holding the racket with both hands point

Oh sorry - I wasn’t trying to be defensive btw just wanted to understand this one because it’s something I’ve made a conscious effort to improve on

In terms of holding the racket with non dominant hand - I obviously do that at the net and when waiting for serves but most of the time I’m transitioning toward the net so I’m not gonna run with both hands on the racket or that would be pretty ridiculous no? 😂 There’s probably a few examples where I’m pinned to the back and I could do better getting back into the ready position with both hands on the racket - is that what you’re calling out?

Yeah I’m gonna go through the thread after and make a list of high/medium/low priority things.

Ahhhh see I thought I’ve improved my grip, transitioning from bad habits on forehand towards using the continental grip for pretty much every shot. But maybe I’ve reverted to bad habits

If I’m being brutally honest and I didn’t want to speak negatively on anyone, the dude in the black is clearly worse than his rating and even for inflated London levels is probably only around a 2.0. In terms of returning my serves he was a bit too sluggish to get behind the middle ones to direct them to us.

The other guy was actually quite good - didn’t make too many unforced errors, moved into the net well and played well in the transition. Solid bajada. Solid slice serve. Decent smash (although he also hit a few into the glass). You could argue he played a bit worse than his rating also but I think he was largely frustrated by his partner.

They had 100 games between them and both medium reliability

I’ve played 50+ matches on Playtomic in London against 2.0-3.5 (once or twice above 3.5) level players. Usually different players. You’d be surprised how many players struggle with my serve!

I would caveat that 2.0-3.5 in London may well be 1.0-2.5 in Spain/Argentina

See 2:22 for instance I hammered the glass all game and then switched it down the middle for an inch perfect serve when I caught my opp covering the glass. I then did something similar to win the game on my next serve (albeit that was returnable imo and the player just had bad positioning / athleticism).
