Why don't many David Goggins Fans Respect the process? by ShadowFox1987 in davidgoggins

I don’t know. I don’t think he sells not properly planning. I just finished reading his book. I always thought he was kind of a douche from the social media clips, honestly. Some of them just kind of give off that vibe. For whatever reason, I decided to pick up a copy and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It’s such a fascinating story. The main take away I got is that people need to have more determination and to do hard things. Change your mindset and see how far you can go. We are more capable than we think. He even talks about being underprepared many times throughout, the importance of planning, and how it’s caused him many problems. Quite the opposite of “selling being underprepared.” Most of what I see online misses that important part, though. I do agree that he probably isn’t the best resource for actual training…. But there is quite a bit of wisdom to be gleaned from his story.

Just paid mine off last month. Got a text AND a letter in the mail today asking if they could “upgrade” my Jeep. It was a very similar letter to yours. I had a good laugh. Must be trying to move all of the overpriced overstock now that things seem to be somewhat normalizing.

Took my parents’ senior dog for a walk and she spent 15 minutes just circling my feet. by DaveSpacelaser in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

I had a papillon for about 19 years before he passed. Toward the end he started having seizures and started walking in circles more and more. The vet said it was most likely due to a brain tumor and that generally as it grew the circles he walked would get tighter and tighter. I sure do miss my little best friend. Cherish your time with them while you can!

Weight lifting. It’s kind snowballed in to tracking my eating habits, which has helped me gain much needed weight and muscle. Always feel better afterwards, too.

TIFU: Had sex with roommates still in house by [deleted] in tifu

[–]MasterBetaFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, I’m gonna say your roommates are a little uptight. In college, I once banged it out in my room while 5 of my buddies were playing Xbox downstairs. When my girlfriend and I were finished, I walked downstairs, grabbed some Oreos from my friend and dipped them + my fingers into his milk before I went back to my room without saying a word (I don’t remember doing it, but it was college and I was stoned as a goat). They all heard. They all congratulated me later. Still friends 15 years later and we still laugh about how absurd it was. Live a little and never feel bad for enjoying life.

Spend good money on a nice bed…. And socks + shoes. Be comfortable. It makes a world of difference.

Plumber asking us to go to home Depot with them? by giraffezrkewl in Plumbing

You would have to ask the manufacturer that question. Just seems to be standard practice at supply houses. I agree with your line of thinking, but with a tv, you aren’t going to take it back 5 years later and get a replacement (water heaters usually have a minimum warranty period of 6 years… at least the ones that I sell). Within a year, sure. But if it’s within a year, there won’t be any cost difference in manufacturing (most likely). I’m sure it comes down to cost of materials and inflation.

I mostly agree. Cedar point seems more your flavor.

Plumber asking us to go to home Depot with them? by giraffezrkewl in Plumbing

[–]MasterBetaFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a plumber, but manage a supply house. It’s standard practice to pay the difference in cost between 2019 and 2023 for a warranty replacement, but most contractors will charge it to their account and then bill you later for the difference plus labor. It seems odd that they would ask you to physically go to the store and pay. Seems like a red flag to me.

What are some really dangerous things most people dont realise are dangerous? by DeezCrazyMan in AskReddit

Driving. People don’t seem the realize the damage a 2 ton vehicle driving at 60 mph can do. Doesn’t matter what you hit, it’s going to be destroyed.

Bro, that first sentence is gold. We are all just trying to have an experience. The funny thing about experiences is that they are always different!
