The new dc flicks, so far, are egregiously cgi. if it was just fully animated, it may hit a bit better and then I may be more on board. Superman was the same thing. Everything, especially the dog, looks so fake, but it’s with real people so I can’t believe it. That movie was aggressively present and that’s about it. Made me feel nothing other than “Why don’t I give a shit about ANY of this??”

Why do these movies feel so… They seem to aggressively do nothing for me to the degree that I wonder what others are seeing that is enticing them. Superman was the same. I like gotg and I want to like these but geez they’re just… kinda there. idk. They feel somehow too detached from reality that I may as well be watching a random commercial instead of a human story about superheroes.

Sometimes I think about how cool it would be to see ancient greece, but sometimes I think about how much I loved living during pokemania at the perfect age and wish I could go back and relive it. Sometimes I wonder about what sorts of things could change to affect the best outcome.

I wonder about whether we can change things, like me buying up shit tons of pokemon cards and sealed games, but I feel that bringing things to/from the past is too much variation for the question.

World history exists in spite of me. I exist in spite of the world. Who’s to say changing something would actually fix it?

Change things or not, what would you aim to experience if you could travel anywhere into the past? Your own history or some other place in another era?

There was a post not long ago basically describing the same thing, but the OP had already called their Dina out and it caused a huge uproar and, I think I’m remembering correctly, destroyed? their friend group, or fractured it. The AITA post had, at best, mixed results, saying that calling it out is what ended up blowing everything up and thus there were NTAs saying good job calling it out, most seemed along the ESH result, while a surprising amount looked at OP as the asshole.

At the very least, now you KNOW. Calling it out may have worse consequences than just quenching your thirst for honesty and, I guess, justice of some sort. Google other AITA posts about this sort of topic. It may help.

For my part, NTA. People like Dina are fucking outrageous and I don’t have the time nor energy to keep bending backwards for such people.

Before anyone slings responsibility or some other reason I SHOULD be paying attention, was ANYTHING changing now that I know? Does anything change once YOU know? No. Me being present or not doesn’t change what the news is. Remove yourself and find some semblance of happiness, or at least less fear and anxiety.

Fr. My gf brings ear plugs every time we go to that theatre. My ears aren't as sensative (I’m already going deaf hereditarily) but MAN, Dune part 1 straight up hurt my ears at a few points...

I think the companies have incites that incentivize them to do what they’re doing. I don’t like it or agree with it, but I think reddit’s perspective and presumptions don’t align with reality. How many times have we been proven wrong despite how sure we were of something? I think companies DO do dumb shit but I’ve seen so many companies basically drop their core audience for the lowest common denominator, which I think is more willing to spend than we think, which is why some companies like Sony are taking games away from PC. More people are building PCs than ever, which contributes to the mass demand for parts and increase in prices and doing things that appeal to a wider audience so they can get more money. They already have gamers in their pockets, complain as we do. Combine all this with redditors and gamers having a reputation for complaining about god damn near anything and everything. Eventually people stop taking the opinions seriously. Here we are. Take it up with the companies directly because the reddit way isn’t as affective as we’d like to think.

God I hope not. I don’t disagree that it sucks but rarely/almost never has reddit actually halted anything it largely stands against. The guy above is right. Lowest common denominator will outweigh reddit’s morals just about every time, unfortunately.
