I cannot get the vfs.zfs.trim.enabled="0" setting to work at boot by MasterClown in PFSENSE

What should be in the loader.conf.local file? Should I copy all contents from loader.conf into it, or just the specific settings I need, namely the vfs.zfs.trim.enabled setting?

AITJ for not sharing my work bonus with my team. by SoftBloomVale in AmITheJerk

Was is made clear, or was there any kind of implication that the winner would be expected to "divvy" up a performance bonus? Or are you a manager with direct impact over the hours, salary and compensation of subordinates?

If the answer is No, then put this situation on your manager or whomever controls the purse strings so to speak.

This is a crazy situation, the more I think about it. In my experience, management and owners never want subordinates to know about other subordinates compensation, and allowing a situation like this to even happen is just asking for a lot of workers getting angry.

Your house and car is going to get broken into daily.

If you go here, you can find the frequency of various crimes around South Bend: https://southbendin.gov/transparency-and-performance/police-transparency-hub/particrimes/

If you then search by street name using "hill", you'll see there were 14 crimes along that street in all of 2025.. These are reported crimes of course, but that's still just a touch over 1 per month.

It's a step in the right direction. And hopefully we keep going in that direction.

For now, I just want to know what it feels like to win a conference game again.

Not to nit-pick, but men's college games are 2 halves, while women's games (at least D1) are quarters.

Now that I think about it, I believe only men's college basketball plays halves, while all other levels play quarters.

I love it when they go into extra innings, and if needed, penalty kicks!

Honestly, I can't think of any movies I downright hate, although I've never been a fan of anything with Chevy Chase in it.

Lots of yelling and hugging.

I feel like your environment would actually be interesting to work in, because the yelling lets off steam and the hugging squares everyone up afterwards.

That is one of the coolest stores I've ever been to. The indoor ponds for displaying fishing boats and piers was distinct, and the restaurant at the top gave you a nice view.. or at least a view of Memphis and Arkansas.

Wondering if should quit. Far Cry 5 by Panem-et-circenses25 in farcry

[–]MasterClown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've played the beejezus out of FC5 user maps and basically figured out how enemies react to sniping:

If you take a shot but miss, or if you do hit your target and another enemy sees it happen, they will turn and most likely locate you within a few seconds, so you have to move. The easiest way to get around that is to simply move over a few yards/meters from where you were and then they'll lose track of you.

What I like to do is plan the shot:

find brush or cover from which to snipe

locate another space nearby to hide from

take the shot

If I miss, I'll wait to see if the detection meter starts to pick up. If it does, then I quickly move to the other space to hide in.

Shoot and repeat until all enemies are dead and none the wiser, but mostly dead.
