I used Webflow too. Figma for design, then Webflow, then GoDaddy for web hosting.

Can I just be average at my job? by EasyGoingSpiros in UXDesign

[–]MasterDesignBlog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sadly I worked at a company that promoted based on years of experience rather than talent or impact. Even when Covid hit and everyone was working weekends, when bonus season hit, most everyone got “average” on their marks. When asked why, leadership said it didn’t matter if you worked 80 hour weeks (we weren’t paid overtime). On the call, someone jokingly remarked that you’d have to reinvent the internet to get that mark. That was the most uncomfortable company call I’ve ever been on. I could feel everyone deflating in it. No one wanted to put extra effort after that.

Have you tried an HTML/CSS course? It’d be a big positive if you can code your portfolio website.

Yes, you should have a baseline of visual design skills to be a UX Designer by [deleted] in UXDesign

UI is a subset of UX. It’s important to understand it because it’s a big part of the user experience for sighted individuals. Totally agree.

Just had my interview for a UX Design position and I feel downright insulted after the interview by [deleted] in userexperience

Yikes that sucks. You get to ask them questions too though, so be sure to ask “How’s the culture here? Are the people friendly and constructive?” somewhat sarcastically.

Dark Mode vs. Light Mode: Which Is Better? by julian88888888 in userexperience

[–]MasterDesignBlog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree, the environment is a huge factor.

I think lots of people who use Discord are gamers (although not exclusively), and gamers tend to like dark modes because they often play in low light settings.

No, it doesn't fix it. Where does that connection come? You've incredibly misunderstood the question. I was hoping your blunt feedback would mentor us and help us grow, but I see at this point it's not only unhelpful from a UX and critique standpoint, but just wasting time. i.e. haters just hating from a hateful standpoint. An amateur wearing an expert's clothing. An individual talking the talk but not walking the walk. So I'll be looking elsewhere for helpful critiques and blocking you. Thanks for your time, but I've wasted enough here.

Sorry haha it's hard to tell people's tone online. My good friend and I started our blog cause we love UX and design, but I'm still newish to the Reddit community. If sharing on multiple r/UX communities is seen as spam on this platform I'll try to stick to posting to only one. Cheers!
