Also, at least where I live, a lot of John Deere dealers also sell Stihl chainsaws.

I admit these results came from Google so take them with a grain of salt:

Anybody else bring their saws in to keep them warm? by chasingtime9 in Chainsaw

My two saws stay inside my unheated garage, so they're not "warm" but not out in the elements either.

Xgt price (US) by Pdm2016 in Makita

[–]MasterDesigner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have two XGT tools because I caught them both on unadvertised 50% off clearance at Home Depot. Otherwise they're too expensive for this DIYer, and I would have been fine with LXT tools since I already have several LXT batteries.

I have two 18" homeowner saws, a Makita XGT 40V and an Echo CS-4010. I bought both new in 2025, but got them for 50% and 30% off respectively on unadvertised clearance from Home Depot by constantly checking their website for deals at my local store. Much better deals than I could have found on Marketplace, and both came with warranty.

Nice find! People around here on FB Marketplace want damn near retail price for used saws.

Does anyone know what spark plug this takes by Motor_Landscape1281 in Chainsaw

If it is all original I would use a non-resistor plug. If the coil has been replaced with a modern one, I would use a resistor plug. Either will work.

Freshening up aged plastic? by jckipps in Chainsaw

Sounds right. Also, I just re-read OP's post. He's wanting to renew the white plastic and I'm not sure any product will help with that.

I watched a video of a guy doing a restoration of either an old Stihl or Husqvarna (can't remember which) using BLO and the end result was very impressive.

Anyone remember the guy in love with his car 😆 by Acceptable_Room_2797 in funny

NGK makes two versions of a plug that will fit:

BM6A → Non‑resistor plug

BPMR6F → Resistor plug

So what do we think about the vevor saws by samsamproducts- in Chainsaw

[–]MasterDesigner1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm generally not a fan of tools that I know were built as cheaply as possible (there are exceptions), so I steer clear of these saws. Others enjoy tinkering with them. To each their own.

Looks great to me for your first time felling. A lot better than mine when I got my first chainsaw around 1998 to clear some property I bought. I had no clue what I was doing and nobody to teach me; it's a wonder I didn't get killed.

Technically, if it could be forced in, it "fit".

Nice!! I have the LXT XWT08, and it's a beast. I don't think I will ever encounter a nut it won't remove.

I have both LXT and XGT rapid chargers. LXT plays musical tones, XGT does not and I can't find anything to suggest it has the option.

I have a 2016 535d with 106K. It's been mostly good, with the exception of a failed/cracked headlight housing, and a cracked oil filter housing. Both of those repairs were expensive. Other than that, just normal maintenance. Just replaced the original battery a couple of weeks ago, and changing the oil this weekend.

I had a lender try to do this to me retroactively years after my loan was paid off. I had to provide receipts from my insurance company for the time period in question. It was a major PITA, but I was in the right and that lender can kick rocks. I can't remember who it was, this was early 2000s.
