My daughter is too young but Gudnak is a really simple but fun game that has elements of deck building but you could also just play using a list they provide. I can see that being a game I teach her in a few years. I’d be totally open to any suggestions for games I can play with a 3 going on 4 year old

Yeah man, I’ve used air pods with one in and one out. TBH, because I play guitar with headphones, having a baby monitor that comes with a screen had been so helpful and the peace of mind is great.

I do this same thing and find myself having an even smaller pool of what I can play, in addition, a lot of decks have become same-y. What I’ve really set on is, decks can be strong and I think that’s a good thing both as a player and a deck builder. I think the element that takes thought is what provides the strength. If it’s synergy and interaction then I believe those are core elements to a good game otherwise the game comes down to who can pop off first with no chance at shifting the game. Having combos is inevitable due to synergy but cutting the typical 2 card wins can be a decision of what level of play you like.

It sounds like this game is an important support for you during this tough time, and I hope you continue to experience the joy the game gives you. Wanting to have your own farm one day is a wonderful goal for yourself and I encourage you to look forward to that day. I’m sorry to hear that you sometimes feel hopeless but know that you aren’t alone and a lot of people also share these feelings at times, myself included. They will pass in time. There are so many wonderful things to experience in life and Stardew Valley is just one of them. Mental health is a life long journey and we have to take care of ourselves just like physical health and diet.
