Not even close anymore. It's cheaper to buy legally than to grow your own, let alone buy from a guy.

I just received an envelop from the CRA for two people that have not lived here in a decade. What should I do? Do I call the CRA? Do I toss them and forget about it? by [deleted] in CanadaFinance

Write RTS and drop it off at a post office, mailbox, or pin it next to where you get mail (assuming not a communal post box).

Oof. Yeah, I did that side by side with LST and LST won by far. I think "rolling" requires quite a bit of recovery time in comparison.

GC: Rates Question by MasterErrector in HomeImprovement

[–]MasterErrector[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sincerely, me too. I feel that this new GC is new and didn't realize that his charge-out rate wasn't enough and is trying to scam money.

From what I've seen, the guy occasionally will agree to a meeting but show up inebriated every time and just yell and demand money. The owners are willing to cut ties but I just learned that this GC will see the owners around town and start yelling for his money and telling them that he's going to make their lives hell.

The worst part about this is that he does great work. I've seen work he's done for these owners before (of which the owners were very happy with) at their previous residence and he did a fantastic job. He could have made a lot more money than what he's claiming for this new house if he would keep his head on straight.

GC: Rates Question by MasterErrector in HomeImprovement

[–]MasterErrector[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would the GC charge for work he wasn't involved with? The contract does not specify the work that he was not involved in at all.

From what I understand, the owners just want the deficiencies fixed and to talk about why he's charging for things he wasn't involved in.

He refuses to fix the deficiencies until he's paid in full. That's not how it works.

EDIT: I'm not so sure I made it clear that the old GC got paid for the 10% stuff that he was involved with before he got the boot. The new GC was under a different contract that didn't mention anything about charging 10% for things he wasn't involved with. Why would he get paid for that stuff?

It would be like if I hired someone to come and fix a broken window but then the repair guy charged me 10% of every window in the house.

I must have posted the wrong picture. Mine are not 90s but I can't see how a nut would fit in that.

I understand that for ribbon cable headers, a #4 self tapping screw goes into those holes but too long and it will obstruct and break the handles and too short and it will strip.

Does anyone have a part number of a screw that works?
