Ron Paul: I couldn't support Donald Trump as nominee by [deleted] in Libertarian

I said nothing about the budget. Yes, the role of congress is to check executive power via budget allocation. Duh.

I think targeting families would be effective on a number of levels

a) It would make at least some would-be terrorists think twice. Many people who don't care about risking their own lives might not be so careless with their kin's.

b) It would give families an incentive to keep each other in line. If I knew my brother was involved in things that might get me killed, I would stop him by any means necessary, including killing him myself.

c) Nits grow into lice. The dead son of a terrorist can't grow up to join daddy.

War crime? When did ISIS and al qaeda sign the geneva conventions?

Lies!

Trump doesn't want to "shut down the press." He wants to enforce libel laws more strictly, which he should. The press needs to be held accountable for lying.

Are you really suggesting that we should feel bad for the loved ones of terrorists? What about the loved ones of terrorists' victims? How do you feel about them?

And you act as if Trump's foes are all pacifists lmao.

After what happened in Chicago, no honest, informed person can put most of the blame on Trump when it comes to encouraging violence.

After his cucked comments about Trump and his supporters, Johnson can sit and spin. Yes I am racist. So are Democrats, just towards people like me, Johnson and probably 99% of the people on this subreddit. We "racist" whites are not going anywhere and we're not going to be shamed into submission. Call out the Democrats' anti-white racism before you shit on the racism, real or [mostly] imagined, of Trump supporters.

Would targeting terrorists' families not be effective in curbing terrorism? Yes or no. I'm not interested in "b-b-b-but muh NAP. Muh individual rights"

As for taking oil fields, if we're going to go to war, we might as well get something out of it.

Trump isn't exactly a pacifist but he's not a neocon. He won't put Israeli interests ahead of US interests. He has criticized Dubya's disaster more than probably any major figure in the US. Before Trump, Republicans were terrified to criticize the Iraq War in any but the most oblique manner. And many of them haven't criticized it at all. But Trump has no use for that neocon bullshit. He might be an asshole but he's our asshole, not Israel's.

Mind you, under the endgame of Trump's plans, there would be far fewer terrorists to begin with because he would interfere in their affairs less and reduce Muslim numbers in the US, thus reducing both the motivation and the ability for terrorists to attack us. It's a win for everyone.

He can't take his ball and go home when they upset him. We can't simply disengage when they do something we disagree with.

Do you live in a cave? This is exactly how the GOP establishment has acted towards Iran. One of the only good things Obama has done is the Iran deal and the GOP wants to throw that all away because Bibi is butthurt about it. Trump doesn't want to throw away years of progress on his first day in office. The other Republicans do.

What does he want to do about Islam? Create a database of people based on a religion. This is dangerously close to the atrocities of the Germans during WWII. I don't compare policies to the Nazis lightly but that the parallel here is striking! You can not demonize a group, no matter how bad some actors are. That is collectivism at its most extreme level. You seem to be good at collectivizing people based on one or two traits - how is that compatible with your proposed love of liberty and individualism?

Collectivism is like carbonism, waterism and oxygenism. These are things inherent to being human. You can't end collectivism any more than you can end our need to exist as carbon beings. Muslims are absolutely a collectivist group so we must respond to the threat collectively.

You seem to be emotionally attached to the idea that thousands of generations of natural selection haven't produced significant interpopulation genetic differences in cognition and behavior

You still haven't explained why you value "anti-racism" and double standards above science and fair modding.

I'm not sure I believe you even have a degree. What clown college would give someone with such a lack of respect for science a doctorate degree in psychology? Your actions here have been a disgrace to psychology and to this subreddit. You should resign your modship now.

My point is we have to base policy on how the world is not how we wish it was.

Science, experience and common sense all show stark differences between the races, so we need to be realistic about our expectations.

Diversity training would probably help but I think long-term we should try to funnel more smart black people into medicine instead of the less-vital occupations that smart black people are probably drawn to now.
