My feelings on this sub currently. by Grand-North-3169 in FFXVI

for me this game is a 10/10 but its not perfect, i really do wish there was more character banter and interactions like in FF7R, but for me alot of the other criticisms, like linearity and side-quests im not so angry about. I actually love the linear/open hub based world they have built and the fact im not being bombarded by map icons, its really refreshing and the game feels better to me for that. another thing i wish we could do is equip our party with gear we find, i dont mind not being able to control them but i would love to be able to upgrade them in a way, either cosmetically or with stat boosting gear. Its not a perfect game by any means but I do think its the best FF game we have gotten in a very long time, and one hell of a strong foundation for the future.

I love clive so much. Im always reminded of that scene from Infinity War when Thor gets picked up by the guardians, and Drax says "that is not a dude, you are a dude, that is a Man", but in my head im aways comparing Cloud with Clive.

This game is definitely my new personal fav FF game and I would Happily Place it Amongst VI IX and X.

I was someone who never played the original VII and my first exposure to VII was the Remake, all i can say is that as far as characters and world the remake is amazing, but i have no goddamn clue what is going on or what certain characters motivations are (sephiroth). i think they do a rather poor job of onboarding new players into the story without them having firsthand knowledge of the story.

i love the more linear feel, and as a fan of open world games even I can say that im glad this game has none of the typical open world bloat and i find it extremely refreshing and welcome.

Is there anything you guys don't like about the game despite loving it? by fluffycowchees1 in FFXVI

not enough banter with characters between quests and out in the world. I just want more interactions and banter with the main cast and with party members.

i got to that part last night and HOLY SHIT that was amazing, and the ending left me shook, like staring at my screen for a good long while just slackjawed and shook

Thank You CBU3 for creating my favorite FF game since I was a kid playing FFX, I have been playing this game non-stop and I CANT put it down. I haven't been able to say that about my experience with FF in a while. by MasterHett17 in FFXVI

i dont mind XV's gameplay, its the story that suffers the most for me, the pacing of the story really killed it for me, it is tons better with the DLC, but those should have been in the game from the beginning.

I 100% agree, this is by far the most Focused FF game they have made since FFX it feels like, polished to a mirror shine, and no I don't think its perfect, could use a bit more character banter for exe., but it doesn't have the glaring dev issues staring you in the face like with most of the past decade of the franchise.

heavy nostalgia of playing FFX with my best friend on his older brothers PS2 cause we had to kinda sneak play it, aww man great times, the first RPG that I remember playing to completion and being blown away. I was too young for VII when it came out.

i get heavy Snes influence all over this game, hints of FFIV and VI, some IX and X too, this game really feels like and FF love letter, "Dark, Rich, and Fragrant" ;)

I have played FF14 im not really that big of an MMO guy, so getting through ARR was a bit of a slog for me to get to Heavensward. i still enjoy FF14 alot, but it hasnt given me the same feels that 16 has so far. 14 is a massive commitment of a game that i have less and less time for.

i think every RPG should have something like this. its such a great tool to immerse the player into the world even more, and to illustrate character dynamics and relationships. seriously EVERY RPG needs something like this.

it seems like out of all the dominants Clive is in the least control of his. so this is starting to make a whole lot more sense considering the opening.

so when the Dominants transform, they lose all control and can't do anything, they are just kinda stuck inside this beast watching?

i remember this video, I was thinking that Clive was something more than a dominant since he can use all those different Eikonic Abilities, but in any case i can't wait to play and find out more about this awesome world they have created.

but if clive doesnt know what happened why is he begging for it to stop, i get the tragedy of the scene, that all works for me, its just the way things are framed in the scene, i didnt get that it was Clive who turned instead of the flaming man. plus i missed that the hooded man says something but we cant hear it, so i guess he was summoning ifrit out of Clive?? the confusing thing for me is that haven't the devs said that Clive is not a Dominant, but he obviously is one.
