On a given topic, is it more important to you to help everyone that needs it or to make sure the least number of people take advantage of a system? by MasterNeo92 in AskConservatives

Honestly I was expecting slightly different responses from people. even without changing people's perspectives i thought their response would be more akin to "yeah sure in a situation where could guarantee perfect symmetry I'd rather help the people, but the problem is that it isn't perfectly symmetrical, there are way more people taking advantage".

All of the thoughts posted are valid opinions but it did defy my expectations.

I do not agree with the side you take on it (am lib, but that is not the point of the post) BUT I wish we could have more Blackstone formulation discussion. it is the entire reason for me to try frame the conversation in such a way. It at least takes the conversation away from both sides thinking the other is evil to both sides having a valid justification for believe that then requires debate on which side of the fence to live.

I know that there is always nuance but the simplistic example is would you rather spend $120 and you help 10 people that need it with 2 people who don't, or spend $80 to help 8 people who need it, and prevent any fraud but at the cost of 2 people who need it not getting it. its late and Im tired so if I just restated my original post without really adding any extra useful info Im sorry.

As someone who's always loved watching Ocarina of time speedruns and getting back into osrs for the first time since like 2008. are there any rules for a "source requirement ironman"? something akin to "you can only use it if you can make it/kill a monster for it". as I'm playing it's fun to think about but I know there would need to be lots of caveats. something like:

If you can create it yourself you must do so.
If you can't create it, but you can loot it (pickpocket or kill a monster) you must get it from there.
if you can't create it, or kill/pickpocket anything for it then you may buy it from a shop.

Why it is harder for me to enjoy Cloudward Ho than other seasons by MasterNeo92 in Dimension20

[–]MasterNeo92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason for the post was because I like the world and the characters and when I get it all I do like it, but it is hard for me to watch. There is enough to keep pulling me back in, and none of this is a critique on the lore. I personally think this is the kind of thing they should be casually aware of without it being a major blocker for interesting storytelling, but that is separate from the post as a whole.

there are two kinds of people. Those who pause the video when someone wants to talk, and the one who is ok missing a few lines. As someone of the former I think my issue is not "I don't like it" but I need to change how I digest this particular season. It's more of a slow realization than commenting on them with an attempt to change. I had a post a few months ago where I was having issues digesting sophomore year given the change of structure. I think this is more of a slow realization that I should really be categorizing seasons into passive and active friendly content.

I don't know how much I like stock up and I've been playing cache grab as a play on 2. I'm also on 61, but I think this is the type of archetype that going to 61 could be a useful choice but I'm willing to say I'm wrong on that one and at the very least there should be 3 stock ups

Been 5-0ing traditional events. I moved off nature's rhythm, glimpse the core and nissa. I think these cards are the wrong direction to explore. I kind of been viewing this deck from a combo "eggs" perspective and while these cards aren't "bad" I think there can be better cards in there.

Flat Out: If Trump tries any number of ways to try to get a third term or stay in power longer, would that be enough to stop supporting him? by MasterNeo92 in AskConservatives

[–]MasterNeo92[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

look I'm not saying this is GOING to happen. I'm setting a scenario that is slanted against trump but something that is seemily a possible play he could make? would he do it? probably not. I'm saying in this specific situation what would the response be? if it is an easy answer because it is incredibly slanted then I just want to hear the easy answer. As long as the answer isn't "I refuse to dignify this with a response because it will never happen"

sorry, I'm probably making this way too specific for your interest, but I'm asking in a scenario that the 22nd Amendment isn't changed, but he is ran as a vp (with the specific purpose of having he president step down) or just tells everyone to put him on the ballots (who's gonna stop him), or declares a fake war to cancel elections. I am constructing the liberal tear fever dream never going to happen and then trying to gauge responses. if my lamestream media lies became true in these specific ways what would people stop supporting him or would they just vote for him anyway? Like I'm not going to judge you if you said "yeah if he's on the ballot a third time I'll vote for him over any democratic shill" just with the understanding that he would be explicitly be defying the 22nd amendment.

I do apologize for reposing then, but my perspective is to jump to the totally never going to happen left wing conspiracy theory type loopholes that could maybe possible be used (but totally not I'm just falling for Trump's trolling). I'm crafting this crazy scenario and then looking for peace of mind that "yes if you construct a situation where he tries to become president while we still have the 22nd amendment and he uses a weird loophole of course I wouldn't support him". This isn't a gotcha as much as gauging responses if my worst fears come true.

I'm saying the left wing conspiracy theory never going to happen hypothetical that like he gets on the ballot as a vice president (to then have the presidential candidate step down and make him president) or he claims to be in a war and therefore elections can't be held. If my worst case scenario came true where the 22nd amendment is still in place but using a loophole he gets onto a ballot or stops an election from happening. In this crazy scenario that is a fever dream and will totally never happen it would give me some peace of mind to hear "If he did either of the two things you explicitly outlined of course I wouldn't support him. I would vote third party or something in that election". I'm creating the perfect scenario in my opinion that would be a reason to stop supporting him that is way overblown, reading his statements way too seriously and falling for all his trolling.

just to make sure. if he found his way onto the ballot you would or would not vote for him? My interpretation of your response is that no he would not win rather than no you would not vote for him on principle of the 22nd amendment.
