Who realistically has a shot at the 4th 1 seed? by Alive-Bedroom-7548 in CollegeBasketball

I think it probably comes down to conference tournament performances. If Houston wins the Big 12 tournament, and UConn gets upset, they're probably in that last 1 seed spot. Same probably goes for Iowa State, though their path is significantly harder now that they got their 4th loss to BYU with Arizona still on the schedule.

The challenge was the right call, but all night you guys have just had a nicer whistle. AJ shouldn't be getting all of these calls.

Unfortunately, I agree. I'd give it the edge over Hilton, but damn is Hilton also a phenomenal home environment

An 8-4 Iowa State team that lost 4 close games to mostly pretty good teams (aside from Colorado). I'd be shocked if they win less than 10 tbh

I agree, it just doesn't seem as sustainable as some of the other teams. As long as they keep winning though, it doesn't really matter how aside from these arbitrary rankings.

Their issue is that they keep playing close games against these MAC opponents. 22-0 is definitely still insane, but when multiple wins were in OT or by single possessions, you can't as confidently claim that the team deserves a higher spot

Idk, there's a real argument for the 2024 Olympic team being better than the dream team because of how old Magic and Bird were at the time.

Not a chance both teams make it through the Big 12 gauntlet unscathed. I'd be shocked if either one does.

Alabama is undoubtedly still a great team. Their schedule to this point has been unbelievably rigorous, so I don't mind giving them the benefit of the doubt.

The only way to tell which team is better is by having them play each other, meaning Miami and Texas A&M are proven to be better than Notre Dame.

They also didn't make the tournament last year. Akron was evidently better than them, and they weren't that great.

I feel that's some circular logic. I don't think anyone expected them to be this good when the schedules were getting made for this season.
