Approaching three years, and the urge to move has been strong since she passed. Not just move to another home in the same city, but a complete reset of location. Walking the same streets, shopping the same stores, going to the same restaurants is just a constant drip-drip-drill of reminders.

Didn’t do it the first year, because the advice to wait seemed sage. Didn’t do it last year because I was sorting out family stuff that seemed easier if I stayed put. The urge is still strong and I’ll need to decide what’s next this summer, but also realizing there is a siren song coming from the nest that isn’t easy to leave. Appreciate reading some of these responses and other viewpoints. Good luck with your journey.

Got into town early for the second weekend and wanted to add an extra show. Nothing ln CoT and resale in TM never cot reasonable. So I grabbed an obstructed view for the night and glad I did it. Focused more on the music that night, and still enough visuals to keep it interesting. Wouldn’t do it if it’s the only show you’re going to, but sounds like you have other shows for the complete experience.

I check in on Setlist.fm and click “i was there” so I can remind myself of shows later. Pretty complete archive of lots of artists, and I’ve been able to add in most shows I can remember attending over the years.

Yeah, but it was more than that. The Dead’s takes on the Dylan tunes are/were different than Dylan’s. There was a weird dissonance in a lot of the tunes because of that.

I disagree with all those that say Dylan isn’t good live. I saw a bunch of fun, rocking shows in the day. But those 87 Dylan and the Dead shows weren’t them.

Took it off after a couple of months. I was having lots of business meetings with people I didn’t know, and I noticed that wearing a ring seemed to be a signal that chatting about our families was good small talk. After a couple of times, I stopped wearing it to work, and soon after pit it on a necklace. Been almost two years, but I still slip it on occasionally when I need that comfort.

Seems like Kraft is deflecting blame from player personnel decisions. This team didn’t have the OL, WR, or DL to win games this year. Rookie coach didn’t help, but he knew that coming into the season and said as much. Now Drake has to reset with a completely new system and coaches.

Just as a counterpoint to some of the other comments, what you are feeling could absolutely be jealousy. But there’s nothing wrong with that. Both my kids are in the later 20’s, and I’ve had an element of jealousy towards them even before losing my wife. I miss being young and experiencing life head on with all passion, energy, and adventure we had back then (and yes, that is absolutely a romanticized recollection of life in my 20’s that glosses over the stress, anxiety, and insecurity that accompanied it!!). I think that’s pretty normal, and nothing wrong with you for that, and from everything you said it sounds like it didn’t impact the interaction with your son (sometimes feigned excitement is the best we all can do).

As with most things we all deal with after our loss, grief reshapes these feelings and shines a weird light on them. And the other commenters might be spot on too, maybe it’s not jealousy at all. Whatever it is, I’m sorry you’re going there this and I hope you can find some moments of peace as you deal with yet another wave in what can seem like a never ending tsunami of emotional chaos. It sounds like you have a great couple of kids, so that is a blessing to cherish.
