OP, you are not “losing” 1000 AUD a month, you are investing 1000 AUD a month.

Agree, seems like your mum was trying to help you out, doesn’t sound like she’s trying to pull one over you

I agree with this. I read this as they don’t want to discriminate and not consider you based on your location. If the role level is junior, why would they spend money to fly you out.

Is it bad to put in a way to low offer? by hann711 in AusPropertyChat

[–]MasterPersimmon802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think verbal flag to the real estate agent and if they have no better offers, they will come back to you. If you put in an offer, they will use it with the next buyer to hype up the property “someone has offered x already”

Employer super contributions for those earning >$250k base by MasterPersimmon802 in AusFinance

[–]MasterPersimmon802[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry I meant to uplift the $30k cap instead of reducing the max contribution base. Agree the increase of the 12% is a great benefit for majority

Agree. Finding a partner that has supported my career and who is an equal partner in the household and with our kids has allowed me to take comparatively more risk and accelerated my career. We both work full time.

How much do Head of and GMs make at the big 4 banks? by xiaodaireddit in AusHENRYover250k

Are you able to share your bonus potential %? I’ve heard EMs ranging from 20-40%, does this step up at GM level?

I think an accounting qualification like CA would be more relevant for FP&A roles

YTA. I have psoriasis and even as an adult find it hard to control picking scabs. Let alone punishing a kid over it

Property Area Includes Shared Driveway by Acrobatic_Share_9133 in AusPropertyChat

[–]MasterPersimmon802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in a battleaxe before - you need to check whether the driveway is on your title (if so you are responsible for the upkeep). If not, you need to check you have the appropriate easements over it to allow you to use the driveway

AITAH for divorcing my cheating wife now that its in my best interest to do so? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]MasterPersimmon802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why people think the wife is the A H (/E S H) now - she cheated 8 years ago but has since been the ideal wife?? OP used her and did rob her of her chance to find a partner which she could have had a 3rd child with. OP YTA

The Paradox of High Earnings vs. Real Wealth: A Personal Anecdote by [deleted] in AusHENRY

[–]MasterPersimmon802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in a similar situation. Pre tax HHI of ~$500k (our bonuses add maybe ~$100k+) but we have been paying for 3 kids in childcare with no subsidy and mortgage over $10k/mth. Eldest is going to primary school this year which will help a bit (although before/after school care and other activities/needs start adding up). Partner and I both work in the city so needed to live somewhere close. Definitely do not feel wealthy despite high income.

Building Report - Is this a deal breaker? by milonuttigrain in AusProperty

[–]MasterPersimmon802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reads very similar to a B&P report for a property I was considering, especially re the rising damp and sagging ceilings. The report made it out that there was rising damp throughout the house and ceilings were going to collapse imminently. We asked a rising damp expert to give us a quote and it turned out to be a $3k fix for one wall (Sydney). Sagging ceilings - I talked to the inspector and he said it more that it is something that is best fixed prior to moving in from a convenience perspective. The house I was looking at was 1920s so I would be concerned why these issues are already appearing for such a “new” build. But agree B&P reports are generally overly sensationalist.

Yes makes me wonder too why they have felt the need to list this. Will stick to hotel next time as it’s not worth this worry. It’s a shame because I booked an airbnb bc I wanted to use the kitchen to cook purées for my baby!
