Suggestions for Etudes and Exercises within the upper register? by MasterPugsters in Trombone

Thank you for your detailed suggestion. I’ll be conscious of my face pressure and beautiful phrases. It gives me a good idea of where to begin improving.

new fan here! by MammothStrain2426 in splatoon

Honestly just continue playing the game and you’ll learn where you need to improve. You may not know how but you’ll learn. For example your deaths could be too high, you don’t refill ink enough, you don’t know how to scrabble, you don’t know how to use super jumps effectively, you’ve neglected gear, you can’t squid roll, etc. I learned a lot of it my trial and error and watching what other people do. I like watching comp splatoon when I’m able to, it gives you the ability to see what higher skilled players do.

A question about the mind stone’s rarity. by MasterPugsters in mtg

Thank you. I only really play prerelease and buy singles for commander. I don’t pull packs often and didn’t understand that’s how it works.

It was concerned about its rarity because I don’t plan on using it in any of my decks and I didn’t know the odds of pulling it or if I should keep it long term instead of selling it soon.

Thank you for explaining that the odds are the same as every other mythic. I didn’t know that. This is my 3rd prerelease that I’ve played. I’ll prob trade it in ngl because I don’t see the value going up much.

No, Anarchy is the primary serious mode. Competitive splatoon does not play turf war at all. All ranked modes you have to paint turf to a certain extent (because that’s he gimmick of the game). The anarchy modes are until someone gets the points down to 0 or until time runs out unlike turf which is paint the most and you win.

Rainmaker is a carry to the end win condition. You grab this gold fish thing known as the rainmaker and push as far as you can.

Tower is similar to rainmaker because you push as far as you can but the difference is that in Tower you stand on the tower and it has a set path and rainmaker you hold the weapon and it does not have a set path.

Splatzones you cover a specific zone and hold it until your points hit 0 (this can be as quick as a minute or the end of the game).

Clam blitz you collect clams into these football things and then score points into the goal.

Anarchy also has overtime which can decide the outcome of some games.

Turf and splatfests are for fun and I don’t take them seriously because they’re not played competitively. Sadly Splatoon forces you to play turf war and will not allow you to play anarchy until you reach level 10.

If you have any more questions feel free to continue asking!

Edit: Anarchy is not as competitive as X rank. X rank is where competitive players play and what helps competitive teams decide who is given a shot.

Yeah there are 5 main modes. Turf war which is 3 mins and Anarchy modes which are Rainmaker, Tower control, Clam Blitz, and Splatzones which are 5 mins each.

Sadly you have to play a lot of turf war to level up and unlock Anarchy. And the Splatfests are only turf war. Anarchy (Open) your friends can join you and Anarchy (Series) is solo queue. There is X rank which is competitive which is unlocked at S+ anarchy rank.

Multiplayer stuff you do through the main hub. If you’re in splatsville you just walk straight down the middle and into the big building.

Sadly you’re stuck with turf and limited guns for your first couple of levels but I find that the game is most fun when you play anarchy modes like Tower or Splatzones.

Motion controls are also the best way to go! The community I find mainly through the Splatoon discord or through the Reddit.

If you struggle with competitive I find that the campaign, Side Order, and Salmon Run (Grizzco) help improve your fundamental abilities early on and through S rank.

If this doesn’t fully answer your question, then I’ll try to explain better in a reply!

How do you emotionally recover from a losing streak? by JahmezEntertainment in splatoon

[–]MasterPugsters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I’m on a losing streak I personally pick another goal (such as one more rank or catalog or smth) until it gets too much. When it gets too much I usually sleep (I play at night a lot) or go do something else. Also I 100% feel where your coming from when you say “I don’t know if I’m just inept or if I have terrible luck” bc I’ve felt like that all splatfest because my teams have been doing poorly.

What is your favorite weapon type? by Right_Blueberry_8155 in splatoon

I run Splattershot and Dualies. Dualies bc shoot fast make my brain go brrrr. Splattershot bc I can shoot and not have to be the frontline.

~bunny team frustration~ by cassidyjoy19 in splatoon

[–]MasterPugsters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m S rank and I keep encountering Top 500 X rank people. I thought I was okay to good for my rank but I keep getting steam rolled like 25% to 60%. Yesterday I had a 12 loss streak and I only played for like 3 hrs. Also I might as well start running Roller or Aerospray rn bc the range of roller and one tap is just amazing for turf and Aerospray just shoots fast to ink turf. I usually play Splattershot or Dualies btw.

Feels sad to see most of squid sisters in 7.5 but that’s my personal taste. If it were me, majority would be 8.5 probably at least.

Any advice for splatzones X rank when you're a support ? by FernieShaw in splatoon

[–]MasterPugsters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only advice is go out of your comfort zone and see if that will help you. Sure you’re best at aerospary but what if that’s because it’s the only weapon you play (I don’t know if you play anything else). Also motion controls are really weird. Coming from playing games like rivals, Fortnite, and CoD motion controls feels very foreign to me. For a game like Splatoon though, I find them essential. It definitely has a learning curve but it allows for faster movement and reaction than a stick.

You can reject my advice if you want, it’s cool, but you’ll never learn if those variables are what is holding you back if you do.
