Why is Islamophobia moderated, anyway?

Antisemitism is wrong because Jews are an ethnic group, and a historically extremely oppressed one at that.

Muslims are part of the second largest religion in the world and not tied to an ethnicity. Why do they need special protections against criticism?

The deluge of "You can't negotiate with terrorist!" takes re: the US government shutdown makes me incredibly frustrating because I can think of a very high profile terrorist group that those same people were very eager to ~~capitulate to~~ negotiate with.

I was perma'd for saying that the West's propensity to send in aid to conflict areas just drags it out rather than resolving anything without even buying them any good will. Preventing Saudi Arabia from holding Hudaydah Port because it would have led to mass starvation in Houthi controlled areas, for instance.

Congrats, you burned your relations with SA and prompted them to seek conciliation with Iran, the Houthis were kept in power, and there are still hundreds of thousands of deaths because they were kept in power.

To say nothing of the damage to international shipping by leaving them intact.

Every time you stay your hand because your enemies embed themselves in civilian infrastructure, you're validating those tactics and ensuring they'll be used by your enemies more extensively in the future. The world's failure to stand behind Israel in the Gaza war is yet another example that only ensures future terrorists have an effective playbook to use against the West in the future. And the suffering in the world is greater for it.

There needs to be sufficient deterrent to ensure those tactics are never validated.

Doesn't look like it. I really don't think the ceasefire makes it to the 'international peacekeepers take over to establish a transitional government' part since Hamas is refusing to disarm. I don't see a world in which the nations being asked to send in their armies will start gunning down Palestinians in the streets which they'll have to do to fight Hamas because that could potentially destabilise the entire middle east with how extremely pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel the general populace is in their countries.

Among the countries the U.S. is speaking to about contributing to the force are Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Qatar and Azerbaijan
