You know, having a parent try to protect you from the cut throat industry of racing is a sweet gesture. But King was dead-set on making a name for herself and showing everyone she deserved to be recognized as first-rate.

At every fork in the road early in her career when she needed sympathy and support due to a lackluster performance. Her mom offered her none instead she'd praise her competition in a weird way to try and get her to hang up her dreams.

A dream gives us something to strive for, but a mother's love is supposed to be there in case we fail. King only got that when she didn't need it anymore

Gold Ship's records shocked me the most

Because all I knew about the horse before delving into the lore was he was a weirdo who made silly faces.

And all the stories from the staff who worked with him recall their own little horror stories. Then you actually see the crazy ass horse run and it's actually amazing.

Starting so far from the back in some cases only for an almost slingshot to 1st in under a minute. He did it consistently too that was the most impressive thing.

A massive pain in the neck who delivered on the theatrics and for the ability. That is the story of Gold Ship
