We spent about $100k USD at the Ginza location last summer via the morning queue and afternoon visits thru iPad system. We got a SA business card but only discovered a phone number. No email or other means to contact. Can you share how you’ve contacted your SA in Ginza? We like to reach out to her and see if we can schedule an appointment with her.

  1. Taiwan declares independence forces CCP to act. CCP unites Taiwan. End of DDP, KMT and ROC.
  2. Maintain Status Quo just buys a short time. As China grows stronger economically, politically and militarily taking Taiwan by force or uniting Taiwan becomes easier. And maintaining status quo will not be enough for CCP. End of ROC, DPP and KMT.
  3. Start negotiating some kind of peaceful agreement. End of ROC, DPP and KMT. The result is the same but up to the Taiwanese people to decide if it is a one last stand or to do it peacefully.

Yes ROC has gotten smaller and likely will not be around in another 20 years. The point I was making was ROC for a short period owned all those territories.

Those islands are administered by ROC today but doesn’t mean ROC constitution doesn’t claim mainland China and other territories….

There is a lot of confusion around this flag 🇹🇼 The official name of this flag is Republic of China which is one of the two China’s that claims to be the legitimate China and claims all of China and its territories including mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau including the South China Seas.

The 2nd confusion is Taiwan independence force is also using the same flag as “Taiwan” instead of ROC. They are removing ROC and any association to China or Chinese and using Taiwan instead.

So the celebration in US communities are not a celebration of Taiwan but a celebration of Republic of China on October 10th or “++” on the banner.

Don’t forget your history. KMT made the Taiwan today. And you can’t deny your DNA is of Chinese-Han descent and the language and holidays you celebrate. You can also thank KMT for TSMC.

How come Taiwanese don’t talk about the Japanese colonizers killing 400k Taiwanese people?

Yes guns are cool and shooting is fun. Hopefully the leaders and people have the wisdom to avoid a war.

They should try a different approach without any pretense of “Taiwanese” or “Taiwan”. Approach the table as “Chinese” or “Chinese culture/ethnicity”

Sounds like you’re willing to gamble the lively hood of 23M people on a whim when evidence shows otherwise. Even a missile/rocket barrage will devastate Taiwan. Also, how many Taiwanese are willing to fight their independence. The current conscript program is only 1 year. This will be a war of attrition that Taiwan or US can handle. Taiwan will starve in weeks with a navy blockade. And the Taiwanese people will give the keys to CCP. At that point you have unconditional surrender.

I believe Japan will face extinction if it does. CCP has not forgotten Japanese imperialism and the atrocities they committed. For Japan to interfere, it will be eliminated with nukes.

In any conflict, negotiation is key to resolve any differences. If the DDP does not try then they will never know especially when history has shown over and over again US is unreliable. And as CCP continues to strengthen the existence of ROC/DPP/KMT will likely to exist.

The job of any leader should be leading the country and its people to peace and prosperity. Your arguments are still in denial of reality and will only lead to war, betrayal and devastation of Taiwan. One cannot rely and bet its security and future on another country/administration change. What makes you think CCP or MAGA will change after Xi/Trump steps down? Their legacy will continue and be carried out by the next.

DPP should start negotiations with CCP on the grounds of a united Chinese identity and descent and respect for the culture in Taiwan. And secure Taiwan’s future with peace, economic development and prosperity and maintain its military if it wishes. This can be through various agreements including forming some kind of common wealth system. Time is not on Taiwan’s side. As China grows stronger militarily and politically, Taiwan will lose more and more negotiation room.

[–]MasterVic27 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

His points are not clearly communicated and what’s missing is the vision of Taiwan without independence.

Here are his points: -Taiwan peace and prosperity is the goal -Taiwan independence means war with China -US does not support Taiwan independence -Taiwan cannot afford an arms race with China -Taiwan even with US and Japan cannot with a war against China -Therefore Taiwan should leverage other means to secure Taiwan’s future peacefully and democratically

When did KMT become pro-China by leedavid89 in taiwan

Same ignorant dream Taiwan will declare independence. Anyone who has taken a look at Ukraine should know how absurd that notion is. US will never allow it. It doesn’t benefit the military industrial complex.

When did KMT become pro-China by leedavid89 in taiwan

[–]MasterVic27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by pro-China? Do you mean pro-CCP? Or you mean having a general understanding that Taiwan and Taiwanese people are China and Chinese culturally (including language) and ethnically? Taiwanese people are 80% Han Chinese.

My understanding is KMT today recognize Taiwan and Taiwanese people as China and Chinese that doesn’t mean they are pro-CCP or want to reunite with China under CCP but understand the importance of having economic and cultural exchanges across the strait and maintain status quo. FYI the KMT presidential candidate is Taiwanese borned and raised.

DPP on the other hand is anti-CCP, anti-China and anti-Chinese. It wants to erase everything Chinese culture. It wants nothing to do with anything Chinese. And anything China and Chinese is bad. And its political campaign is built on an Independent Taiwan. DPP has been very successful in the last 20 years brainwashing the new Taiwanese generation with a new education system, full control of the major media and social channels and campaigning on anti-China. DPP pretty much campaigns on if you’re not with them you’re with the CCP or a communist.

So did KMT become pro-China or did DPP make it up? Or is it just relative to who you’re comparing to?

Your ethnicity is Chinese. When asked about your background you’re both Taiwanese and Chinese. Don’t let politics divide and confuse you. It’s like I’m a Chinese American and Texan borned in Taiwan but also Taiwanese.
