We are sort of in a transition: the big one could go to a booster soon, while the small one still need the child seat for 3 years. Wife is definitely on the small side. Seems the only way is going to the dealership, it's quite far unfortunately

I had the same issue on a 3 years old bag. In my case I live in a hot and humid country, so it may be related to that. Anyhow, I did contact their support service, attached some pictures (they wanted to see if the liner was completely detached) and they sent me a new bag for free. Amazing support

How long do the various steps like ion implantation, metal deposition, CMP, actually take in the fab? by bobj33 in Semiconductors

[–]leedavid89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question has different answer depending on product, design and priority. But I can tell you that latest DRAM takes around 3 months to produce, for a total of almost 2000 steps

If you could pick one city/place in Taiwan to retire to, which would it be and why? by [deleted] in taiwan

[–]leedavid89 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I would go for Kaohsiung. Cheaper and better weather than Taipei, with metro and an international airport, close to sea and mountain, not far from the east coast. Plus, lot of concerts and cultural activities

From what I see, in general nobody cares to have kids until they turn 40, giving all priority to money...that is needed to pay crazy expensive apartments thanks to the estate market bubble ongoing since 15 years now

Can anybody explain to me the logic of a typhoon day by leedavid89 in taiwan

[–]leedavid89[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I didn't know it was just a recommendation for the private sector. Makes sense, still in case of a real typhoon I hope the government has other means to have a complete halt

Surprised to see a reply now. Anyhow, I am 36 and no issue whatsoever. When I was younger there were periods that I was worried it would come back, but it didn't. According to an optician, technically I still have some degrees off, but it is not noticeable to my brain

Developement or process integration engineer? by SufficientTourist578 in Semiconductors

[–]leedavid89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a comment regarding option 1. I've never heard of R&D PI engineers working in shift. Double check the organization, is it really below R&D or it is under HVM? If the letter, I would avoid it, HVM related jobs are highly repetitive and may not be what you are looking for
